  1. I didn't see who was going #1.
  2. Thats unreal. It should be a good conference tourney too, but they are definatly the favorites.
  3. The guy next to him is what Lance Armstrong is going to look like in 20 years.
  4. I don't think I would take Randy Johnson out of ther game either.
  5. Being that it is probably his last contract I won't be suprised to see him at least explore FA.
  6. Would you do a one year deal with him? The BB:K ratio doesn't show the fall that Randy Johnson had, but he is at that age point to where you expect it to happen at any year. Being the baseball historian he seems to be, if the Cubs don't win the WS this year I could see him being very intriqued about a 1 year deal with the Cubs just for a chance to break the curse. After all he could be the man who won it for Boston and Chicago.
  7. Makes you wonder about Don Baylor a little bit more. I would gladly take back Dusty before that crap again.
  8. i hate kruk and i hate phillips, and, apparently, they hate each other. maybe they'll destroy each other on set someday. we can only hope. hey ted, teams are really breaking down your door to hire, you, eh? I don't like Phillips either. I am still hoping to see Kruk on it one day completly loaded. They need to get Keith Olberman back and just for BBTN.
  9. That's been in the plans for a while hasn't it. It will be interesting to see what kind of Stadium renovations the US will be willing to do to draw it. I would think the US would have to be huge favorites for it. I just don't see Mexico drawing much interest from Fifa right now. Finally reading over the article I would think the US has a slight chance to get it in 2014. South America only has Brazil and Columbia as the only two countries as candidates. Honestly I think Columbia has no shot in hell in getting it. If Blatter is not confident in Brazil, he said he wants to go north. The World Cup is a cash cow, and he knows how much money it will bring in in the US a 2nd time around. Not to mention how much more prepared we will be the next time.
  10. This used to be one of my favorite shows to watch and now this. I am fine with Kruk I acutally like him as long as Ravach and maybe Gammons are on with him. I hope Baker replaces whoever gets fired first this season.
  11. Go Texas! Sorry, but I'll have to root against Tech and Okie Light from now on... May a longhorn find it's way into you backyard! Just for that you will finish 5th in the Big 12. Haha! KIL, you know I've never rooted against you guys, but I have to right now. We need to stay 4th in the conference, and really can do it ourselves by beating OU, CU, and OSU. A little help is always nice though. Texas is so up and down right now, its hard to figure out what they will do. They could win tonight by 30 or lose by 10. Durant is the most exciting player in the country though, and with Knight you got yourself some good tv :-). It looks like its going to be Texas by 30 since they have a 70-40 lead with 9 minutes to go.

  14. But does the arbitrator look at how contracts have inflated since the time they were signed?
  15. Wish Beasley was still with PSV.
  16. at halftime of the kansas-kstate game, espn said Zambrano is expected to sign a 1 year deal before going to arbitration. If this holds true I would expect to see him sign a long term deal in the next couple of weeks.
  17. You're dead on about Gulati. Beating Venezuela and Costa Rica isn't going to cut it anymore. Hell, we won the Gold Cup last year with basically a scrub team until the semi's. Donovan was subbing in to games in the 80th minute and scoring goals. Counter attacking doesn't work at the higher international levels. Just because Mexico is stupid and never adjusts to what we do when we play them doesn't mean that it's a viable strategy. Look at what happened in the sendoff games and against the Czechs and Ghana. Teams sat back because they knew that Reyna-led US teams don't attack defenses, and we struggled to create chances. Thankfully, Reyna's no longer in the USMNT picture. Thus the reason why they need to hire a European coach.
  18. Well between Zambrano, Prior, and Marquis we probably have the best hitting rotation in baseball.
  19. Maybe. Or maybe not. :-k what are the chances of vlad getting to me at #3....? Alot better then my chances of getting him at number 14, or whatever I am! Slim to none :-)
  20. Should send them the other way around. Copa will have some excellent competition. Playing against good teams like Colombia, Argentina and Paraguay is better than the scrubs in the CONCACAF Godl Cup. World Cup teams like Argentina and Brazil are the teams we should be playing. The US really values winning the Gold Cup though. I understand wanting to win your Zone so you can play in the Confederations Cup. We could win the Gold Cup with our B team, though. CONCACAF sucks. Our best players should play against the best competition. That's the only way we'll improve. I agree 100%. Hell Mexico won the Copa America about 5 years ago if I am not mistaken. Maybe it was 7.

  22. I'm curious to see a picture of Wood with the loss of 30 pounds.
  23. You need the address of Mark Shapiro, a bottle of 151, a digital camara, and a goat.
  24. I would like to officially nominate a new option for the US since they are in no hurry to announce this year. Frank Rijkaard. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=408960&cc=5901
  25. I don't think this will be an issue with Piniella as long as he is alive.
