  1. I hate Chelsea but I like this move for him assuming he plays on a regular basis. Still its a nice little upgrade for him from the almost Fulham move he made. Also reported Chicago missed out on signing Zidane, as they did try to lure him out of retirement. Had MLS signed Beckham and Zidane in the same month that would have been a huge upswing for the league prior to the season opening. Still with that being said I am very happy to see them attempting something.
  2. I get home from work and only 134 pages in this thread. I am really disappointed in everyone here ;-)
  3. I always thought he was really viewed as more of a closer than a starter. I could be way off as I really didn't ever get to pay much attention to last years draft. Right now it doesn't sound like he has 3 three solid pitches, but it seems his learning curve is a little quicker than most. He definatly will be more coachable than Sisco ever was :-)
  4. shut yo mouth No joke. And Ortiz is a little #$%&@
  5. yes ma'am If San Fran backs out, and Boston offers $15 million the money will talk. Not to mention Boston will have a very legit chance to win the WS.
  6. Peterson has not officially announced has he?
  7. Being that he is 35, Pujlos is due for a long term injury ;-)
  8. Its hard not to jump on the Saints bandwagon just for support. But if they play the Bear I hope they lose.
  9. i like it. he's a quality player who's still got good years ahead of him. the goggles will be a big deal too. I would absolutly love to watch Davids in person. I always thought he was a little underrated. He is an absolute bulldog. As for Beckham, I am really not worried about it breaking MLS. The league knows its finances, and this is a calculated risk. I think their is a lot more to this deal than we know about, and we are going to see a marketing/publicity machine like no other this summer. Hell I might actually be excited to watch an MLS game ofr the first time since 1996.
  10. Its LA or New York, with LA as the very high favorites. I seriously doubt I will see him living in Frisco, Tx :-).
  11. What do you do with a player who never tested positive for steroids, yet we all know cheated? Example: Sammy Sosa Because baseball never really tested for steroids for a long period of time, to be fair, you should only exclude players who legally tested positive. Otherwise, it is just hearsay. McGuire should get in....Sammy should get in. Bonds should not. Ken Did Bonds ever legally tested positive? 5 years ago Bonds was a HOF. I don't see why he is not now, especially if the other two make it in.
  12. and run-on sentence . . . ND did not deserve a BCS berth this year. they played three good teams and got annihilated by all three. Funny how no matter how obvious I make it that I'm kidding, ND haters feel the need to attack the Irish anyway after kidding comments. This treatment is getting ridiculous. oh poor you. Ouch, and from a mod at that. I'm with NDI here, people are a little ridiculous. And as a mod I think you should be held to a little higher standard. please clarify what you are talking about. He made a point about ND and I refuted it. I'm just teasing on the last part. And I am not a mod. anyway, its not a personal attack - or not meant to be. That's what I'm saying - IT WASN'T A POINT! I was just making an elaborate joke, helped out by the coincidences of ND and OSU playing in the same bowl last year and both losing in similar fashion and by the same score to SEC teams in bowls this year. I wasn't making any sort of judgment on the Sugar Bowl. I can't believe my parenthetical finish to the post didn't make it obvious enough that I was joking. Simple solution: stop rooting for Notre Dame And for those discussing Texas, McCoy was injured in the last drive of the aTm game. Snead came in and immediately threw a pick to seal the game, but there's a strong chance they would've lost that game with him. McCoy wasn't healthy the whole game though. No excuses though as Texas still should have scored more than 7 vs A&M regardless of who played QB.
  13. I wonder where Ron Zook is?
  14. For everyone"s enjoyment next season, could we have ND play an SEC schedule? Pretty please. We went over this earlier in the year and people had ND as the 9th best team in the SEC. You're all as nuts as ND fans. Well ND definitely proved everyone wrong, what with losing by only 27 points to LSU. Yep losing by 27 to LSU definitvely shows that ND is worse than Kentucky, Alabama, and South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennesee. Grouping ND with Tennesee and Georgia would be pretty accurate.
  15. He could always just go to the Giants instead ;-). Luckily for ND he is no Saben.
  16. I can't think of any other teams with more than 2 Americans. Reading has two with Bobby Convey and Marcus Hanhemann. Everton has Tim Howard, Man City has Beasley and Reyna, Watford has Jay DeMerit, Blackburn has Friedel, Leeds has Eddie Lewis, West Ham has Jonathon Spector. Hopefully Fulham creates a pipeline for American players to play in the EPL. Rumor now is that Gooch is looking to head to West London with Fulham as well. I would expect a bigger club to target him, and not to be cheap. He is one guy I would not mind going to Germany. My cousin used to play with him on the Youth National Team and other clubs in DC.
  17. I need to, just really haven't figured out what I am going to do yet. I don't see myself trading either Lee or Howard though.
  18. Finally he gets his wish to play overseas. Fulham must really like American players.
  19. Two years ago Wilson would be an almost lock for who the Cubs would want. I really hope and doubt they would consider him now.
  20. Some but mostly 6th. batting 6th 324ab's: .312 .384 .552 .936 bating 2nd 112ab's: .232 .336 .429 .765 Personally I don't put too much into the splits, but I would not really even consider batting Murton 3rd and Lee 2nd. I would flop Aramis and Lee before Murton and Lee.
  21. and a Happy Festivus!
  22. Oregon State part II coming for ND. Or at least I hope
  23. IIRC, Grace had more hits in the 90's than any other player in the game during that period. I could be wrong, though. He also led the league in slumpbusting. See, going into a slump isn't all that bad. He needed 3,000 hits to have any chance IMO. He should go into the Cubs HOF and even the Dbacks just for one hit alone.
  24. Scott Kazmir. Would they still be wanting to pay Zito 100+ million if they had him today?
  25. I am hoping PSV or Ajax will show some interest in him. Really? I would think a Spanish league side would be a better fit. I'm still a little biased towards Holland for young players. I just don't really want to see him to England or Germany.
