    The Weather Channel guy on ESPN this morning looked miserable trying to explain the conditions in todays game. It is going to hurt to get hit in that weather today. Hopefully it is televised.

    Kosuke it is! anyone think it may be possible he cahnges it next season after he sees all the Fukudome jerseys and shirts that are llikely to be sold in the stads? or is there a MLB rule prohibiting players from doing that? I think he could, but I think there is an application process. Luckily MLB is not the No Fun League.

    At almost the same cost as Fukudome of 12 million a season its not going to be too hard for him to fail. The more home games he pitches the better off he will be. Can't do much worse than Kei Igawa.

    i see we continue to lump howry in with the "bad signing" group, even though he's more than earned his $4m per year. I could be mistaken but I don't really remember anyone complaining about the Remlinger or Hawkins signings. We all knew Hawkins should be used as a setup man and not a closer but that was it. At the time of signing both of those looked pretty good.

    I'd love to have Rodriguez, but I feel like we're in for another embarrassment when he turns us down. I wouldn't be surprised to see Michigan up the ante quite a bit this time to avoid that. He's a WV grad so it's going to take a lot of money for him to leave. I'm surprised you didn't mention something about going after another Big East coach. :D It is where most of the best coaches reside! Rodriguez has a $4 million dollar buyout. I don't see Michigan paying WVU $4 million. I've said it before and I will say it again and it is something I know Michigan will never in the world do but they should at least interview Major Applewhite or at least bring him in as the OC. He will be the head coach of a major program within 3 years and will be very successful. I know they want someone old though.

    I think more likely the wrench comes from the Orioles side. On one hand, it's been said that Andy needed to trade other guys before he could trade Roberts. On the other hand, once Angelos gives the OK for trading Tejada and Bedard, he can probably justify saying, okay, that's enough, we have to keep Roberts for PR reasons. Is Roberts that popular in Baltimore? Yes. He is a hit with the ladies and he also does a ton of work in the community. They love him in Baltimore. Has Angelos ever actually cared about PR?

    I would have rather had Tejada. Though it does look like the Astros gave up a lot for him. Not as much as Jason Jennings, but still.

    Haha. This is random, and I may be a bit immature, but did you read what some Dodgers forum replied to a guy when he posted one of the insiders rumored trades? I don't know why but I was LMAO. Note: Profanity inside http://www.dodgerblues.com//fanforum/nfphpbb/viewtopic.php?p=186758#186758 HAHAHAHHA I loved the part where he says the trade in terms of describing people ( a future ace, a serviceable 3B...) and then he gets to Pierre. I'm just jealous they can swear. It certainly does make it more entertaining. Less classy, but more entertaining. Please! Like anyone on here is classy. The 1st response alone was great.

    I'm thinking he will, if the reports that he wanted to be the first Japanese player with the Cubs are true. I am curious to what kind of personality he has. Ichiro and Matsui seem to be pretty private and reserved players. It would be interesting to see him be more outspoken, which it seems he might be given his body language in the youtube video's.

    Did the fact that the white sox are going to suck it up behind Detroit and Cleveland for the next 5 years play a factor?

    Not having to worry about payroll, I think now I am just hoping the sale is completed by the All-Star break or the trade deadline. It looks like the delay is the actually deal to Zell is still ongoing. I don't mind waiting longer if we can get Cuban as the owner.

    If the Reds are going to be including Bailey and Hamilton and more in a package to get Bedard, I really don't like the Cubs chances of beating that price. < suspension of reality >But if by the off chance the Cubs do get Bedard, I'd flip him to Cincy for Bailey, Hamilton, et. al. in a heartbeat! < /sor > if Baker has already shaken Bailey's hand, then the damage has already begun.
