  5. I can't wait till Desean Jackson gets his head taken off some day.
  6. Damion James is really really good.
  7. Also just announced on one of the Big 12 networks.
  8. At least we won't have to listen to the voice of reason for a couple of weeks.
  9. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4809540 Good for him, Houston has some pretty weak wife beating laws in place.
  10. Kirby Smart to interview for the Texas Tech job.
  11. McKnight going pro today with the whole thing too.
  12. Won't they have to at least pretend to adhere to the Rooney Rule? Would it matter that they tried to interview Leslie Frazier but he declined? Chris Mortensen is saying the same thing about it being a done deal. Anyone else want to start the Saban to USC rumors with me.
  13. The shovel pass call was the horrible part of all that. Texas gets the ball back and, rather than kneel, they decide to run up the middle, which resulted in a sizable gain. Texas then called timeout, rather than let the clock run out to go to half. At this point, I figure they're going to try for a deep pass down the field. If it gets picked off, the odds of Alabama returning it for a TD are pretty minimal. Even if Alabama picked it off, there only would have been a few seconds remaining and it would have been well down the field, meaning Saban would have likely taken the knee to end the half. However, if the deep pass succeeds, Texas either ends up with a TD or they run like hell down the field for a spike and a FG attempt. All of that is fine in my mind. But then...the shovel pass was called. I simply don't get that call. As he was going in for the half, Mack Brown claimed it was a high percentage play; that it was a safe call. That makes no sense. He had a really young QB with limited experience behind center. Alabama's DL had been getting penetration all night. Moreover, the probability of a shovel pass getting Texas within FG range, even if it worked, was fairly small. Had the RB caught it clean, I don't think he would have made it very far. The DL seemed to have him covered. I really don't see how that play was supposed to result in a favorable outcome for Texas. Most Texas fans have been questioning Greg Davis' playcalling for years. I, personally, have let it go, as it had driven me to the brink of insanity. I had accepted it too, but last night drove back all of the reasons I used to dislike him. I'm scared about how well he will adjust the offense to work around Gilbert. He should be working with more of a pro-style offense, and less of the spread but we will see. I am very excited to see Gilbert and Darius White together next year. Hopefully we can get Jeffcoat or Hicks as well to add to the defense. I thought he began to adjust to that offense last night. I bet we'd have seen more of the pro-style had they not been playing catchup most of the game. I'm optimistic about Hicks, but for some reason I see Jeffcoat going to USC. It's OK, an Okafor-Bible-Dorsey-Wilson front 4 will be just fine with me. With White, Goodwin, Monroe, Newton and Williams, GG is going to have some weapons. If Pete Carroll is gone I don't see Jeffcoat going to USC :-). I was actually looking at them a lot lower to begin with even with Carroll.
  14. Sometimes my bed hits me so hard when I'm asleep that I can barely move my arm when I wake up. It must be an SEC bed. That is freaky, I had the worst instance of dead arm when waking up the other morning. I've just started seeing this this past year, luckily only a couple of times. The 1st time it happened, it was so bad it freaked me out.
  15. wtf, get ou out of there still no o-line and our defense is getting hit pretty hard. Here is Schlabach Top 25: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/story?columnist=schlabach_mark&id=4804655

  17. I truly feel sorry for you
  18. Yeah, kind of a no win situation.
  19. I think Gilbert will probably go into spring ball with a lot of confidence. He probably won't face a better defense than that all next year. I'm happy for him and the job he did. I also think he is more of a pro-style QB running a traditional offense rather than the spread, but we will see.
  20. 302/456 (69.3%) 4851 yards, 55 Td's, 5 Int's. 776 yards rushing, 6.7 avg. 23 Td's. These were Gilbert's numbers just from his senior season in HS, 78 TD's in one freaking year. He was rated higher than Barkley for most of last year, and Barkley went ahead of him after the Under Armor game. The 1st four drives he played were pretty much a waste with the play calling last night.
  21. Congrats to Alabama winning the BCS Title Game. I'm certainly not disappointed in losing to Alabama, but the circumstances of how it happened made it feel a whole lot worse. Before the game if you told me Alabama won I would have had no problem in feeling like they were the best team in the country, this morning I certainly don't feel that way. If the teams were at full strength Texas could have won. I'm very happy with the way the Texas defense played, Sergio Kindle probably boosted his status up to around a top 15 pick. Shipley is going to be a great #2 receiver for some team in the NFL (wouldn't be surprised to see the Patriots take him with Welker going down) Mack Brown and Greg Davis panicking lost the game more than anything else. They have a QB with probably a better arm than McCoy who is more than capable of at least attempting to make plays, and it took more than 2 quarters even to give him a shot. Then they continued to try to run the ball in between the tackles of Alabama which made no sense after they had some success running to the outside. Tre Newton is not the type of runner who will run inside against a D like Alabama. Greg Davis is not a very good OC to begin with, him having to make mid-game adjustments is a nightmare. The fact that Texas had a chance to win the game with 3 minutes left was amazing, and you still wonder how things would have been different if they had just kneeled the ball at the end of the 1st half, instead of giving them a Harrison like play in last years Super Bowl. McElroy is probably the worst QB to win the BCS this decade. It sucks, I feel bad for McCoy and all of the other players.
  22. Not much of a transition for you going from UT to the other. Yeah, UT to UT, orange to orange. Not as awesome an orange color, but it'll do. :D Your Orange is closer to the Dutch National Team so its pretty awesome. Plus the Titans have several former Texas players on it.
  23. Not much of a transition for you going from UT to the other.
  24. Understandable, I was pulling for OU last year. Mostly just wanted a good game.
  25. I wonder whatever happened with all of his Madoff money that was lost/frozen?
