Yep, if you're trying to predict the rest of the season. But no matter how small the sample size, it doesn't change the fact that he's sucked this year. Last season combined with the first 20 games does, however, provide a pretty significant sample size. Shouldn't you worry more about the White Sox? I don't think the Cubs face the White Sox for a couple months, right?

No, he can't. He will improve. Problem is, he could improve significantly and still be disappointing.

Mark Grace never did that for you? Only if the go ahead run was on 2nd at the bottom of the 9th. Any other situation, Sammy would follow... and K with three quick whiffs of the bat... EXCEPT in '98. Although in reality that's not true.

This Cubs team isn't that good. The reason they are playing down to a "AAA" team is because their lineup is like a AAA team. The pitchers are minor leaguers. The leadoff man has been terrible all season, and is coming off a bad year. The 7 and 8 hitter are both terrible. They have very few weapons. The best player on the field is on the other team. It's not that surprising that this would be a tough series and they might only win 2 of 3. This team is going to have to play the high wire act if they want to win much this year. There will be no streaks of comfortable wins until and unless they get a lot of weapons back.

You can't choose who replies to you. You should have known that in a thread where you insulted people who have said anything bad about the Cubs, that you'd get replies from those people that were less than friendly.

How many times do you have to read about the difference between Ramirez and Pierre? Aramis has a history of fantastic production that would leave people to believe he can recover and still have a great season. Pierre does not have that history. He's always been about squirting balls through the infield, which is harder to do in Wrigley's tall grass, and he's coming off a bad year. They are two very different situations.

you realize the difference between his OBP and a respectable OBP of .350 is about 1 hit every 4 games and 2 walks over the season so far, right? You do realize that same excuse can be used for just about every player with crappy stats? It doesn't mean a thing.

I was hoping it wouldn't be much more than 89/90, but this strong start by nearly everybody is making me rethink. While the Central has been beating itself, for the most part (well, really just Pittsburgh), they've also all played against the East and/or West, and the worse record is Pittsburgh 2-2 against the West. Every other team has a winning record against whatever other division(s) they played. This pace won't last. I think the West could inverse by season's end. I think the East will still take 90+ wins. The Central winner will probably need at least 93, and the West will probably be around 88-89.
