  1. This Cornell-Kentucky matchup is a sociologist's dream, no?
  2. Buffalo probably has the worst QB+WR corps combination in the league. They need a lot of help, but with just Trent Edwards, Brian Brohm, and Ryan Fitzpatrick on the roster, QB needs a serious upgrade. Colt McCoy is the pick, and with Dez Bryant from the 1st round gives Buffalo fans some young excitement on Offense for once.
  3. Scratch that. I do think that Morgan is the best value here, so they may be tempted to take him and work him into a 3-4 DE and move Maybin to OLB. But I think they realize they need major help on offense, and Dez Bryant can most likely step in and make NFL plays opposite (and eventually replace) Lee Evans. Bills-Bryant
  4. He has YET to speak his own words to media. Just one stupid lie or evasion after the other. He is pretty close to being scum, like his manager that was the only man in the clubhouse that didn't know he and Canseco were jabbing each other in the butt. I know. Hundreds of McGwire's ex teammates have come forward saying they knew he was juicing... Hundreds? Really?
  5. touché .
  6. Has anyone mentioned how ironic it would be if the Redskins ended up with Bradford?

  8. Your a spaz because you'd threaten to burn anything down over something that some how has less than zero chance of happening and you seem to think any team, even the Cubs, would just throw money at him without seeing him pitch and evaluating what he might be able to do. I honestly didn't think anyone would take my firebomb threat seriously. I will use green font next time for you. I never insinuated that the Cubs would sign a player without watching him pitch, rather, the post I was responding to was suggesting a deal where Prior would still need rehab, thus, a contract for a career rehabber to continue to rehab. Relax.
  9. If we wasted any more money on a guy who has spent the past 4 years rehabbing who would then still need more rehabbing I would burn wrigley down. Spaz. I'm a spaz because I think paying Mark Prior more money to not play baseball is lunacy? Okay...

  12. When Scott Rolen goes in, it better be as a Phillie...
  13. I will take the Bills again.
  14. I hope the NL adopts the DH rule. I also would like to see the NBA incorporate a similar DFTS (Designated Free Throw Shooter) position. I mean who wants to see Hack-a-Shaq continue to ruin games? This could also extend the careers of past-their-prime greats.. Jerry West could literally still be playing! How cool would that be?
  15. People said the same thing when OSU lost Hawk, Carpenter, and Schlegel. PSU LB's will take a step back, sure, but Bowman and Lee both missed chunks of the year at the same time for a while, this year. I am confident PSU will find at least 3 solid linebackers from the pool of players that have been either redshirting (Mauti, Carson), playing special teams (Stupar, Yancich, Gbadyu, Colasanti), or not yet arrived on campus (Hull, Fortt, Royer). This definitely is a strange time for PSU linebacker fans, though. No Posluszny, Connor, Shaw, Lee, Bowman, or Hull(43). That was quite a nice run of LB's over a short time period..
  16. This is so true. Why is it never used as an excuse the other way, when "cold-weather" teams like Ohio State plays LSU in a Louisiana bowl, or Michigan vs Florida in a FL bowl, or PSU plays USC in the Rose Bowl? I know the current big bowl destinations are alluring for travelers, but I think it would be awesome to see a northern team play for a championship against a USC or Florida or LSU at Lambeu field or Foxboro...
  17. Seriously? I can't think of one that "screwed" PSU. That penalty was BS, dude was trying to kill the clock. Should have been a delay of game on PSU. The last illegal motion penalty against PSU, that was obviously an offsides against LSU? Not that it mattered in the end, but it forced us to settle on a FG. One? Wow, what a screw job and I'm not sure it was an offsides. Games already been erased from the DVR so I can't check and don't remember what it looked like, but isn't it possible the DL just got a good jump. That penalty at the end was pure BS. Care to defend it on its merits? As a neutral voice in this (i dont give an f about either team) I think it was very clearly an offsides. The announcers even called it right when it happened and then had to backtrack on their words later. Not that announcers are always(ever) the best reference; but it looked clear to me. I don't think PSU got "screwed" on any calls, but its not like there was no attempt. The spot on a crucial 3rd down that needed reviewed and overturned was pretty brutal. When Paterno can clearly see it on the same sideline as you, yet you still mark it 2 yards(!!) short you may need to check your eyesight. That linesman was pretty bad on spots all game, for both teams. He would come running down so far off from where the actual spot was, he was walking sideways once the other refs would accurately spot it. Almost lining up for a 4th down when it was actually 2nd down was not funny, it was sad.
  18. I could be wrong, but doesn't Fox have a bit of a repuation for having a bad attitude as well? Or uncoachable, at least?
  19. What current managers do you see being more worthy? I could see a case for LaRussa and possibly Torre. I'd take Bobby over either one, though. maybe a better question would be if Cox makes it who doesn't? Because if Cox makes it then Mike Scosicia, Joe Torre, LaRussa, Terry Francona, Lou Piniella they should be in the Hall of Fame. I think what has Cox being talked about as a potential Hall of Famer is because of the 14 straight division titles. Well I would certainly hope thats the starting point of discussion. :banghead:
  20. Thanks guys. I called, but they are closed (Labor Day). I sent an email, but will call again tomorrow.
  21. Hey guys, I hope someone could help me out here. I have 2 Griffey Upper Deck rookie cards, and my younger brother always wanted one of them when we were younger, but I would never trade them. His wedding is coming up, and I was going to include a card as part of a gift, but was thinking of trying something that would go a little further. Basically, I wanted to know if anyone had experience with mailing cards to players to ask for an autograph, with a self-addressed envelope included. Am I wasting my time and probably won't ever see this card again, either forcing me to buy one on eBay or give up my only other one? Thanks in advance to the serious responses...
  22. I hope everyone realizes any trade for Reyes will include Castro.
  23. I don't think that's fair. I don't think most people on here had given up on him. I shouldn't have used the words "given up on", but I remember when he was traded there wasn't the type of reaction you would expect from people who still thought he was a potential stud.
