  1. I saw that, but it just seemed like a really weird sentence. I didn't know if you were trying to say "Castro is leading the race" or "Castro is in second place." How is that unclear? It means he's ahead of Heyward. I take issue with "JHey" because that's dumb, but in a thread titled "Castro vs. Heyward", this was a solvable mystery. :D Sorry, got a brother in ATL who is a Braves fan, I'm used to how he describes him in emails. Besides, with the amount of DLee's and ARam's around here, figured it was acceptable.
  2. C'mon guys, Bill Mueller wasn't that good, but he was better than Kevin Orie, Gary Gaetti, Luis Salazar, and Jose Hernandez. So we shouldn't have ever replaced him.
  3. ^Right, I just don't get how ESPN can report what they did based on that stupid text and retain even the smallest shred of respectability they had left. Why does no one (jon stewart, letterman, nightly news, etc) call them out on it?
  4. I don't get it... what does "this is it" even mean? Why would anyone freak out over it like its gospel? Like MJ's final tour, "This Is It" meant it would be his final tour. Favre texting someone "this is it" could very easily mean either "this is it - I am about to retire, good luck with Sage" or "this is it - this is my final season, lets win it all"
  5. I always figured he wanted to do it so that Milwaukee could obviously collect the team-less Twins fan casualties.
  6. http://www.blogcdn.com/mlb.fanhouse.com/media/2009/05/1buster-posey-200-5509.jpg "Hi, I'm Buster Posey. I'm hitting .355."
  7. Bumping this as I think Castro is now leading for this, at least in relation to JHey.
  8. Everyone who says Lee is going to be an above average defensive player... doesn't he have something like 24 errors this year??
  9. That's still a loooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng shot. :D
  10. Who says I'm not? I've only ever said Colvin looks like he could hit 20+ over a full season. He's 8 away from it in limited ABs, and I think it'd be cool/funny if he were to make it interesting this year in reaching it.
  11. That's still a loooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng shot. 8 away.
  12. Cedeno was in short centerfield when he caught that at "second".
  13. Did Kieshnick play football and I missed it? Or did Bo Jackson also pitch?? :-k
  14. Agreed. I don't actively hate on soccer and I like watching the U.S. games in the world cup but I can't get into anything beyond that. I know the diving and faking of injuries is something soccer fans are forced to live with but it just kills me. I'm the same way. I knew the dives in soccer were bad, but holy hell were they on epic levels today. While it's less frequent and their are fewer, they did exactly what NFL teams have done for years to to slow the Colts offense down (especially in two minute drills). Right. I was trying to think of another situation of one of the more popular sports in this country. The only time you really see any of that stuff happen is in football when the defense is faking an injury going up against a no-huddle offense, or when you're out of timeouts and you pull up lame with an "injury." But comparing those instances to what we saw today really isn't all that comparable. You see that every now and then in football, but not in every single game. There's always some sort of flopping or diving going on in soccer. That said, I enjoyed watching all of our games. I don't really have any other interest in any of the other World Cup games, unfortunately. I'll go back to playing FIFA now. Punter/Kicker dives in american football = The Worst. Game changers, and I've yet to ever see a punter/kicker seriously injured from being run into. I know its highly possible and likely many examples, but not enough to award 15 yards and automatic 1st down like what usually happens. Especially when its an obvious flop.
  15. Yeah, okay whatever Gum. You are right, its a looooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnng shot that a former #1 pick with 7 homeruns in 102 ABs will ever reach 20+ over a full season. I guess time will tell.
  16. 7 homeruns in 102 ABs wouldn't project to 20+ish over a full season and starter #'s??
  17. Some of you guys think that a player HAS to hit 35-40 HRs just because of the position he plays. Its a great idea, sure, but not many teams have a 40 HR 1B, 35 HR 3B, 35 HR LF, 35 HR RF, etc... If Colvin hits 20+ and he's cheap... then I consider him useful as a starter for these Cubs.
  18. Utah to Pac 10. For those scoring at home, thats Colorado and Utah to Pac10 Nebraska to Big Ten Boise State to MWC Anyone foresee any more changes happening? I'm talking to you, SEC.
  19. Looks like those additions -while most likely making the SEC more money in the longterm- will weaken the crap out of its football in the immediate-term. LSU would win that division 9 out of 10 years.
  20. Re: Nebraska v. Iowa: I think flat out refusing to watch a matchup of two top 25 teams automatically disqualifies you as being "as big a college football fan as you will find".
  21. Stephen Drew please. I'm sure he could handle 3rd or 2nd.
