I'm no fan of JJ, but I have to admit that over the last few weeks, despite all the b.s. flying around him, he has been busting it. He is flying on every ground ball, no matter how routine. Guess he wants to be traded too.

I heard Cowherd going on and on about A-Rod this morning, saying that if he opts out and doesn't stay with Yanks he will be playing SS at Wrigley next summer (subject to the situation with ownership, of course). But I didn't hear him say if there was some news story that prompted him to discuss it.

This is awesome. Sell 'em all Kenny! Just not to the Brewers or Cards, okay? I'd definitely be fine with today's John Garland on the Brewers. Fair enough. Wish I'd been listening to Farmer-Singleton today. Sure there is lots of silence, a dash of pouting and probably a fair bit of daggum protesting!

My league, now in its seventh year, has never had a vetoed trade. It's up to the commish. If any question is ever raised, which sometimes happens, all I ask is for each owner to explain on the league board his rationale behind the trade. That always happens, and we have no problems. But I know this is not a public league. We are all friends from school, and we know we are all in to win.

I want them dead and buried before the deadline. But they have reason for optimism right now with Carp coming back soon. But if the Cubs and Brewers come out strong after the break and the Cards continue to muddle a few games below .500, I don't think we'll see any big deadline moves from Jocketty. They may not sell everyone off (Rolen?), but you won't see them make a splash.

Did you see Augie Ojeda with the two-run triple in the 8th for AZ? I had no idea he was still around. Not sure what to make of the Cards, except to admit (begrudgingly) that TLR has done a hell of a job with the crap he's been given to put out there.

Yeah, it's about time the injury bug hit the Brewers. Was looking at TSN's power rankings the other day, it under the little blurb about how the team is playing, it lists "significant injuries." For MIL, it said "none." That can't keep up.

Bad for my fantasy team, but it's not like I'm going to do anything this year anyway. Rain delay anyways. Does it look like a long delay, or will it be starting soon? Just looking at the radar, it looks like the big mass of rain should be moving out of there within an hour. Still scattered storms after that though.
