  1. Ahh..That is the PERFECT level of tackiness! And the right price...My Marquis Jersey/shirt is on its way You mind if I completely, 100% unabashedly steal this idea for the exact same purpose? Actually I usually rock the Santo jersey at Busch. I would be honored :D I plan on wearing it to the next series...but more importantly, to my Firm's golf outting June 1 ( that Marquis keeps it up till after June 1) Exactly. My first thought was, "Wow, that's a great idea." My second thought was, "I'll bet by the time the Cubs are in town again (July) his ERA will be 5.50."

  3. It worked. Wish it wouldn't have...I sat through all 15 innings of that crap... No joke. Got home from the Cards game (rooting for Rockies, of course) only to stay up half the night watching that non-clutch display. Yuck.
  4. Yeah, I don't get it. There was all that talk about putting Theriot at SS and getting Izzy out of the lineup. But there he is again, killing us from the 8th spot. It's easy Lou. The Riot at SS, DeRosa at 2B.
  5. Don't think there is anything wrong with Wilson. I mean, his knee hurts, but it hurt before and he played through it. He sucked, but he was playing. Think they just wanted to give Ludwick a look. If he does well, Wilson is DFA'd. So is next.
  6. YEah, I'm amazed it actually came through, once we went past week 2 I figured they were just stalling to tell us that they couldn't do it... I'm already a "triple play" customer, so I'll get mine for $119...not bad...I know I'm doing it before tomorrow's game so I can watch it....I am SOO happy this got taken care of. I was wondering about that. I already have Digital and HSI with them. Does that mean I get it for $139, or are the $139 and $119 prices only for new "double play" and "triple play" subscribers?
  7. Charter is confirming the deal now. http://www.charter.com/mlbupdates I am shocked they came through. And with the Cubs turning things around, I will be paying up so I can watch the games tomorrow and Weds night.
  8. No tears here. Screw the Cards.
  9. Also banned on inbound flights (those returning to STL). AM590 is saying some players are already complaining about these new policies. Whatever. Here's hoping the Cards keep losing.
  10. Really like what I'm seeing right now. Go down 4-0, don't pack in it at all. Tomorrow is a big barrier for these guys, to get back to .500 and go from there. If these guys are going to compete for the division, they should be able to sweep away a team with Washington at home.
  11. I'm really starting to like having that impact, power bat in the leadoff spot. If the bottom of the order gets anything going, you have him right there ready to drive them in. It's really a shame they couldn't hold on Monday night. They are looking good though.
  12. 2 of 3 would be fine with me, but they will need a solid winning streak (7 or 8 games) to really get it going. Here I am, getting sucked in again by silly optimism. But this team looks good right now and with 'Riot at SS and Izzy out of the lineup, they look so much better.
  13. I guess he couldn't afford it after that whopping $500 fine LaRussa laid on him for showing up late, hungover, and unable to pitch last Thursday after his first accident. Keep in mind that the cops did not think he was drunk when he got into his accident on Thursday morning. Also, there are no reports he was at any strip club. if he was at that neighborhood at 5:30 AM, then the strip club(s) was the safest and most legal place(s) he could have been. Hancock says he usually goes out to drive late at night to get himself tired enough to rest. I know that sounds as implausible to you as it does to me, but that's what he said to the cops. Why drive in that specific area to "get himself tired?" I bet he lived nowhere close to the land of Strip Joints. The cops were probably Cardinal fans and gave him a pass. I live here, and I feel safe in saying that no one, and I mean no one, just "goes for a drive" in that part of town. I'm not saying anything else...just that I wouldn't buy a "i'm out for a drive" story at 5:30 in the morning there...in fact, if I were a cop I'd from then on assume the guy was full of it. I'll second that. I thought I read somewhere that he was at Pop's. Are they open that late? Hell, are the strip joints even open that late? I'm too old for that madness.
  14. That's true. I find 80 around there is typically the pace.
  15. Eh? That's un-American. Un-American and unfathomable. But true. Wendy's was a different deal. The guy who owned all of them around here stopped paying his taxes or something and they all shut down. Back to the point, I'm not speculating. I posted a link that had comments from the woman who offered to call a cab for him. Direct knowledge. But I will speculate that if she had not seen him drinking, she would have said "no" rather than referring the question to the police.
  16. The following is from today's Post-Dispatch.
  17. Too late to move another game. I'm guessing poker reruns.
  18. There was an article in the Post yesterday that most of the team was going to some sort of fundraiser at the Fox Theater last night. Something with Bob Costas and maybe Sheryl Crow. Can't recall the details. I wonder if he was coming from that. No matter really. Just sad. We were to go to the game tonight. Obviously the right decision to cancel the game. Wouldn't have wanted to go.
  19. I don't for one second doubt that he would do it. And Gary Thorne has been around. That means two things. First, he's probably not full of it. But second, he should have realized the poopstorm this was going to cause.
  20. OP, The Score says you are getting your wish today.
  21. Only consolation every morning after another Cubs loss is seeing the Cards lost too. Weak. I mean, if we have to be in the tank, I'd prefer it be a team like the Brewers or Cincy getting their shot.
  22. Obviously St. Louis found it an acceptable situation-they sent him up to the plate 9 times in 2005, and 10 in 2006 as a PH. Probably in blowouts. Nah Tony would use him to pinch hit in the early innings if his pitcher was sucking and he didn't want to waste one of his other bench guys.
  23. Frank Chance? How many teams were there back then? Sadly, Stoney is probably right about this.
  24. We are going Saturday and Sunday. Can't wait!
  25. I've never heard of this Cy Redman........ As Barrett homers... :D Nevermind.
