  1. No, I saw the replay. He was snapping his hand and shaking it. It was the reaction one would make upon tweaking a tendon. Definitely didn't seem like the reaction one would have with a blister. Good. c'mon... i'm not feeling terrible for the brewers but i'm not going to celebrate an injury to one of their key players. I am, the seemingly unfair karma on our team has made me bitter. Ba Humbug.
  2. someone besides us? Wood and Prior were guaranteed injuries. Aside from that, the Cubs have actually been pretty fortunate as far as health goes this year. ARam, Lee, Soriano have all been a little dinged up, but no offensive players have missed very large chunks of time. The rotation has been healthy, and the only pitchers to miss much time have been Dempster and Guzman. (knocking on wood) Yea I kno this year weve been pretty good without any big injuries this year..But I meant in the past years with the DLee wrist injury..Then you got ARam out for a while and all the other things weve ahd happen in the past years. I guess he Forgot about Dlee.

  4. I'm with you, I don't care if they're at there best or not.
  5. Lopez sort of looks like Matsumoto Hitoshi. A Comedian, and regular star on a Japanese show TV show, Gaki no Tsukai. In other words. He looks likes a bald Japanese guy I once saw. http://www.jdorama.com/img_a/001301.jpg
  6. Clearly no homerism in play for Mark Grace... Yeah, obviously. Although a lot of people like to make him out to be a Cub-hater. Well that's because on one round table sports type show I saw him literally trashing the Cubs the whole show. I'll never forget that.
  7. "Stiffness" has been a "Cubs" thing unfortunately. Maybe we passed it on to the cardinals.
  8. I'd pay good money to see that. I wouldn't... Z would crush him quickly. Neither would I, but just because I do not want to risk injury to Z. (appropriate nerdy response).
  9. And the rally bitch is happy. careful now, don't want to get 5 pages of flack for that ;) Locke started it. (points finger).
  10. Just think about where they'd be if they didn't have that 7 game winning streak. They got back to .500 real fast, and have been playing solid baseball since.
  11. And the rally bitch is happy.
  12. NO DOUBT That 3.5 is about the awesomest #*W*@! thing I've ever seen. (sorry mods, just forgive me this once)?
  13. ::is now going to watch brewers game online:: Plz lose brewers.
  14. Reading is exercise for the mind. It will be good for you. The overall consensus is that you should read the data for yourself and make up your own mind. Relying on the summary of others is a sure way to have no intelligent thoughts of your own. But isn't reading the whole thread just like a, long summary?
  15. Wellemeyer back to the rotation. :D Wellemeyer is on the DL with an elbow problem. I know. But, he was also moved to the bullpen (when he comes of the DL) as of yesterday. Wow reminds me of our "pitching rotation" last year. I feel so relaxed with the cubs pitching right now. AAaahhhhhhhhhh. .
  16. I've got funny pictures in my head of floyd wheeling himself into 3rd on an invisible wheelchair.
  17. Why worry about it? Just worry about the cubs winning. Like you said Vance, the kid is still like 1-2 years younger than the average age of MLB breakout, isn't he? Jones is being showcased right now. Now if by some miracle Jones plays so well. They will either trade him for a salary dump and bring Pie back up. Or keep him if full playing time shows he can put up better #'s. I really beleive they want to bring Pie back up, and will trade Jones if he can up his value a little bit.
  18. Honestly though. Barret's offense has not been great since the trade either. Are you so upset that a catcher in our own system who is tearing up AAA is getting a chance in the MLB?
  19. I have higher aspirations. We've gone from 8.5 back to 4.5 back in less than 2 weeks. We could have been 3.5 if we simply won 2 out of 3 in Pit. I expect the cubs to be 4 or 5 games above the Brewers by the time the end of September hits.
  20. Don't forget Soriano's 20 steals, and Soto's super hot break out month in the MLB! Oh yeah and Cedeno who takes over at SS and becomes a cheaper Furcal. Damn we're good.
  21. Honestly. Could you imagine what kind of attention that would draw the game? Of course, mlb doesn't care. they're too busy taking down video highlights off youtube. DAGUM RIGHT!!
  22. Is it true!? Are the Cubs ACTUALLY gonna play baseball tommorow? ::stops twitching::.
  23. According to press reports, he's already in Chicago and participated in workouts today. Thanks Vance. But apparently you don't remember my annoying griffey thing. I just changed it to soto for today. :D
  24. Has there been a new development? If not, its just speculation currently (AFAIK). I'm just getting back into my annoying tag phrase (because of the new development).
