    HOLY SH<< crow never tasted so delicious What's funny is I was just writing I agree Kendall sucks! I had to back space rather quickly... Nah, he still sucks. Like Jacque, the sun has to shine on a dog's ass at least once in a while. I prefer the Blind Squirrel -> Nut euphemism. Both Jacque and Jason are historically better 2nd half players so maybe just maybe Kendall can improve a bit. That knock might get him some confidence he needs.

    The Playoffs and the WS are a crapshoot. Someone like Aram, Dlee, or Soriano gets hot and they can carry you through a 7 game series. The same thing is true with a pitcher who could win 3 games in a series. It all depends on who gets hot when. That being said, we would all like to see another big bat in the lineup. Or even someone onthought of like RHill or a Derosa could get hot during the playoffs. I also agree we need another big OF bat.

    I'd rather listen to smart people intelligently criticize (and praise, when it's due) the Cubs than listen to some babbling idiot on the radio. Murphy is a tard. Oh so you'd rather listen to Boers, who I can guarantee he tells his phone people to purposely only let in the people with the stupidest questions on the air so he can criticize people on the air and be a "big tough guy" on the air, huh? Whatever floats your boat. I've already stated once or twice in this thread that I think Boers is just filler. Bernstein is what makes that show tick, and yes, FWIW, I'd rather listen to that than a babbling moron like Mike Murphy. Bernstein is the a-hole that takes all of the idiotic calls. Ok that's him then. When was the last HARD question Bernstein actually had to argue over with a phone caller? Seriously. Can you think of it?

    He comes up with some dumb ideas. But atleast he is a cubs fan and says good things about the cubs.

    HELLO!!! CEDENO!! He's been hot and hasn't even been given a chance yet. Why? Because Theriot is hot. In other words. With both Theroit and Cedeno I think we are covered at SS. In your eyes: C, CF, SS, RF are holes. C: I agree. But with Kendall looking better, Soto in AAA I think we are ok. SS: Between Theroit and Cedeno we are likely able to ride who's hot. Both are good defensively. CF: Are you looking at Jones #'s so far or Jones recent #'s? Historically being a better second half player. And with his defense and confidence looking better. I'd hardly call CF a hole either. Not terrific, but better than it was earlier this year. RF: Here I can agree. Floyd looks good at the plate, but when you look at his actual #'s. Not very good. Even a floyd/Murton platoon could be ugly. I think in other words we will beable to get atleast average #'s from SS and CF the rest of the way. C you can afford some shortcomings in O if the D is great. RF is the place I'd most want to upgrade. I don't think all 4 positions are as weak as you think they are.

    I'd rather have Kendall/Blanco than Koyie/Blanco. Infact. I'd rather have Kendall/Koyie and just forget about Blanco. Atleast Kendall has a chance of not being a black hole and has shown some improvement lately.

    I strongly disagree. A really good middle reliever is invaluable. Since the Cubs turned the season around, Marmol's stabilization of the middle relief has been a major factor. In this pitch-count and long-count age, it's also not that common to get 7 full innings even when you're winning. Having reliable relievers helps prevent your manager from going Dusty and having Prior pitch 130 pitches rather than take chances with an unreliable bullpen. As good as Marmol has been, his one or two innings of solid relief work can never make or break a game. You didn't watch most of the first half did you? It seemed like dozens of times someones two innings of work were "breaking" the game. I am in agreement with craig here. Marmol coming in and stabalizing the RP has been ONE of the important factors to the turn-around.
