  1. know who his 2nd catcher, 3rd catcher, 4th catcher. 2nd backup catcher, 3rd, 4th, and 5th backup catcher are? Making sure to have 7+ quality staters with the extras atleast being able to put up quality starts seems to have been a good idea. I just wonder if he should build up an army of catchers considering what has happened this year. :-"
  2. His real calling is coming in in a tight game to get 3 important outs. But if someone gets on base, replace him :)
  3. Could we just keep Rizzo in Iowa the whole year, then bribe MLB to add the DH to the NL next year? Problems solved.
  4. I meant when I squint my eyes, I see the # three. Sorry wasn't related to baseball, I know.
  5. As of now, Stewarts stock is slowly but surely on the rise whilest Darwin Barneys free falls. However, LaHair-Castro-Cardenas-Stewart could be historically bad. Dude, there are two above-average defenders out of those four. That's pretty generous. I see two average defenders there. Weird... I see two above-average defenders there. If I squint my eyes, I see three.
  6. The [expletive]? Why should he? Because he can't stay healthy and keeps ending up under the knife. When is it enough? He's never going to pitch in the majors again. He has plenty of money. Go live your life, the dream is over. If you get to decide what he does with his life, does he get to decide what you do with yours? No ofcourse not, but Prior can give his opinion what he wants me to do with my life just like I can give my opinion on what he should do with his. If he just likes being around other baseball players in the minors that's cool. But if he thinks he has even a sniff of a chance to make the majors in any way, he's just not being realistic. Guy hasn't piched in the MLB for what, 8+ years?
  7. Yeah Detroit screwed themselves. If they wanted Garza for Turner + they should have given him up before the season. Now that Garza has been pitching like an Ace, it's gonna take some teams top 4 prospects, but from a top farm system.
  8. With a big FA signing and shark continuing to progress. Having Garza also means we could reasonably expect to be pretty competitive in 2013 and very competitive in 2014. If we trade garza, you can pretty much wave goodbye to any competitiveness until 2015.
  9. Just curious when does Boise Hawks start? From what I heard from someone at BN my milb.tv package includes all iowa games (which I knew) and all Smokies and Hawks home games (which I didn't know at first). I've watched a tiny bit of smokies games. And I'm really curious, if guys like Baez and Vogalbach play short season Boise then that's something I'll definitely want to catch.
  10. We don't really have to worry about closer this year since this is pretty much a tryout year for everyone. I'm sure by the end of the year someone will take the next step and we'll get a better idea of who might beable to fill marmol's diminishing shoes.
  11. He used to play for the Cardinals, but does it really "Mather"?
  12. It's just a christmas story quote I don't know. Have you seen his yellow eyes? So help me God, he has yellow eyes. and what's a christmas story? You haven't seen it? Well hot stickem raff sickle fyfer!
  13. Don't worry, that's Nuts & Gum. It's his way of welcoming you. He's a big teddy bear. no he's not. I think Theo is ready to pull the plug on the Soto era also. But it probably won't be as quick as the Byrd trade. They have to play him and let him get out of his slump before they trade him though. So expect to maybe see him traded at the end of the trade deadline, or in the offseason.
  14. just one question Fred. How big is your super computer where you keep all this information?
  15. Not really sure I don't know much about his arm or defense. I've just seen his build. But from the looks of it his offense is going to be more than enough for even 3B. My guess is he gets moved to 3B. I mean if Vitters puts things together or there is someone else who is elite that is blocking 3B sure put him at 2B. But if no one is blocking him, why not.
  16. Nope! Wells is in Chicago in case Dempster can't go on Sunday. Maybe Dempster is being traded for a teams prospects #1 through #10?
  17. You are ready padawan, for you have become a jedi master. :starwars:
  18. HR RIZZOO!!! WOOT! My god Iowa is more exciting than chicago. :clapping:
  19. atleast on my comcast tv schedule it says it switches to blackhawks pregame at 7:30 so only 1 and a half hours dedicated to the cubs game. This true for anyone else? I'm wondering if it's true, and if so who the hell is gonna carry the rest of the game if comcast abandon's it half way for the blackhawks? No mention from len and bob yet about alternative programming options. This is very unproffesional of comcast.
  20. This Iowa game MiLB.tv audio is terrible. I can't even watch it. Guess I'll just check for recap later.
  21. I think more this way. It's too bad he doesn't play a position where we have nobody. Too bad we have a top 1st base prospect about ready to come up. I do think LaHair can give us pretty good production for the next few years. It's just too bad he doesn't do it where we really have nobody interesting.
  22. If Smardjiza really can put it together and is the real deal. Garza and Shark are a very attractive 1-2 punch over the next several years as we have guys like Castro, Jackson, Rizzo, possibly Vitters coming into their own. I think I feel the same way as the default feeling around here. Would love to have him around, and at this point it's gonna take a king's ransom to take him away.
