  1. And I was away from my computer when all the fun was happening? what a crap time to buy a TV. :)
  2. Someone got a logical explanation for that? That entire team got hit a lot...98 HBP as a team. They had another guy that was hit 14 times and three other guys that were hit at least 10 times. so you are saying he's gritty? Team full of Grit and/or Douchers I've got a good team name for them. The Gritty Douchers or the Douchy Gritters.
  3. Someone got a logical explanation for that? That entire team got hit a lot...98 HBP as a team. They had another guy that was hit 14 times and three other guys that were hit at least 10 times. so you are saying he's gritty? He's so gritty, he caused his whole team to be HBP 98 times! He'll do anything to get his team mates on base.

  5. Someone got a logical explanation for that? Douchyness? He looks like he's from Jersey. Probably Douchyness http://www.virginiasports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=17800&ATCLID=204859843
  6. Someone got a logical explanation for that? He's Jason Kendell's brother from another mother?
  7. Yeah, I bet this is their thinking. Either Appel takes around slot, or they have two top 10 picks next year in a much better draft. If they dont' sign him, do they get the slot money for next year (meaning they would have slot money for their future top 5 pick, their future #9 pick and their lost pick from this year)? I would hope so otherwise they'd have to split single slot money between 2 first rounders. Just guessing based on logic and reasoning here. Don't know for sure.
  8. lmao. Sucks to be Houston. They lose his slot amount if he doesn't sign right? That's really rough. Except that they can't sign him, as they didn't draft him. I have to think that the Pirates are going all out this year, and plan to take the penalties and punt next year. Or get the #9 pick in a probable stronger draft next year. So not a big gamble. I keep going back and forth hating the guy for being snotty and greedy and feeling sorry for him because he's the first casualty of the stupid new CBA.
  9. Yeah I know right? We've said the FO has been secretive, but not in the case before the draft. Overwhelming thought was they take Almora #6 and McLeod said himself power arms that show up in the post season.
  10. It's free on MLB.com. Thanks. Yesterday I was walking between my computer and the living room TV. Today I'll be following it all on MLB + here, PSD, and BN.
  11. It's on MLB.tv but you have to pay to see it streaming right? I have MiLB.tv, does that count? ;)
  12. Methinks Appel is going to be pitching in the independent leagues next year - sounds like he still wants 1.1 money. It sure does seem the Cubs were keen on Almora's maturity and drive. When you're looking to change a culture from the ground up, it's easy to see why Almora why rise to the top of their board. You simply don't find 18 year old kids with that kind of dedication and natural leadership. Would it be too quirky to say "The kid is just a BASEBALL PLAYER". :hello:
  13. Someone at BN linked this, has this been posted here yet? http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=22019587&topic_id=29113154 Seriously made me cry, what a good kid. I trust our new braintrust. This kid def has the right attitude. Combine that with talent I think we got someone special here.
  14. My best guess just from reading everything I can find on pre draft cubs related. The likely drops to us, in order of preference of the Cubs front office. Almora, Correa, Fried.
  15. My (unsubstantiated) guess is weed. What a silly thing to flag someone for. Unless there is an MLB rule that bans anyone who smoked in college or HS.
  16. Nailed it. You know he was sitting there, thinking he had to somehow comment on this, and when all was said and done that's what he came up with. Even da Bum would be shaking his head. You might not like the way it's written, but what it comes down to is teams will call about Castro and be blown away by the price at which point Theo or Jed could sell them on one or more of 23 other guys. I wasn't paying attention, but I think he snuck in a Carlos Marmol there. Well played friend.
  17. I dunno why, this just made me laugh hysterically. It shouldn't though.
  18. be interesting to see if baez is in the lineup. Is there anyway to see the game on the net? I know milb is iowa, tenn, and boise. I know you can probably listen to peoria atleast.
  19. Don't get your hopes down. Even bad teams have a hard time beating bad teams.
