  1. Baker will not be back. . 1) he has lost so many games the 2nd half, that Hendry now knows he is not the man for the job anymore 2) baker has been playing his cards, getting his excuses out there to the papers, sounds like he's ready to find a new job and is already playing his cards. 3) hendry, MacPhail, trib, hell they ALL know, if they don't make some drastic changes, even starting with letting baker go. They would have millions of cubs fans angry at them. There is no way that after all this negativity toward baker, that you can even think of letting him return, now.
  2. Remember when they said he'd be ready by mid-May?............. Hey at least we got him for the stretch run We're 3.5 games behind Kansas City. Miller can help make up ground. :D Stupid D-Rays killed Steve Irwin and now they're threatening to take our draft pick! I say we dedicate the rest of the season to Steve Irwin, we will have the highest draft pick! A sting ray killed Steve Irwin. Not a devil ray. A STING, ray.
  3. Please don't tell me this is a statement of endorsement. Does the man deserve to be let go... yes. Did he help at all in his tenure with the Cubs...somewhat. Should he still be treated with respect, because he has treated the fans with respect... yes. When did he treat me with respect? I'm sorry I'm just failing to remember when I crossed the man on the street, and he said "after you, kind sir." Dusty is an excuse making whiney blame everyone else, take no responsibility, punish no mistake, terrible manager. And I'd be all for humiliating him for how he helped to make this a team I am humiliated to be a fan of. .
  4. We're still in the race... we're the 05 Astros  Aren't we actually mathematically eliminated by now? I think we'd have to win are actually 20 games behind with only about 20 games to play? If we're not, we're damn close. Like 2-3 games til MME.
  5. Common, be realistic. Do you really think the Marlins let go of Cabrera where the BIGGEST guy in the trade they get is Angel Guzman!? Try Pie, Hill, Mateo, and Ryu then you might have a chance. In the end, to get Cabrera you're going to have to strip yourself of some of the important peices you need for next year. Namely, Hill. i would much rather see the cubs keep hill & pie and let murton play lf in 2007 than to trade them for cabrera. Well I do too. But I WOULD like cabrera. . I'd actually prefer we just went with Pie in Center next year, freeing up even MORE money to spend. But I have to figure he won't so I'd actually be up to giving up Pie and some top AA pitching prospects for Cabrera.

  7. Billy Bob.
  8. I should have just said, pee-aye. Really that good?
  9. Won't matter this year. Most of the tickets have been sold already. Trib has their cash and they could care less. But, if Hendry does not sign a big name like Soriano and make a big splash showing a positive change going into 07 then I can bet you they will not reach 3 million next year, and tickets will not sell nearly as fast. This is good, because it is a warning sign to the tribune (what is happening right now). They feel the pressure, and andy MacPhail (F A I L) will speak with Jim about making a big splash this offseason.
  10. looks like Dusty's "day after labor day" explanation for yesterday's paltry attendance has been torpedoed especially since yesteday was two days after labor day Really? Math, that's not my department dude. .
  11. So what are you guys suggesting, using the best of the best of the rookies and spend the rest of that money on soriano and andrew jones?
  12. We suck so bad, couldn't we just have all of them? We'd still be lucky to end up with 1 good player even then, I think. .
  13. Sorry, britches pre-soaked.
  14. There is no clear-cut #1, but Price has as good a shot as anyone else. Others who have been talked about highly and could possibly go #1: RHP Andrew Brackman, North Carolina State C Matt Wieters, Georgia Tech RHP Matt Harvey, HS (Connecticut) RHP Michael Main, HS (Florida) SS Justin Jackson, HS (North Carolina) So even if we are #2 or #3 in the fecal league, we should still have our pick of a really good player, right?
  15. Hill and Zambrano, ushering in the new era?
  16. no he's probably around 98 or so right now. . But with dusty managing. . . yeah, he's got a chance. ](*,)
  17. Damn hill pitched a crazy curve then just hammered a fastball right down the middle to go from 2-0 to 2-2.
  18. I hate the tipping cap thing. But even I'll do that, this time.
  19. I'm considering it. :x Why not, they have alot of our rookies. They take our youngsters, we take their veterans. If we can find a way to get Miguel Cabrera, I could live with the arrangement. :D
  20. He's our #3 SP the way I look at it, if we get hopefully a #2 through signing. .
  21. I'm considering it. :x Why not, they have alot of our rookies.
  22. 10ks, carreer high for rich hill. He'll get a few more.
  23. What? The 6 strikeouts in 3 innings? Yup. Keep watching my friend. God he's really the only 1 I enjoy watching right now.
