  1. How come when Rich Hill pitches there's hardly anyone here? He's probably our #1 pitching prospect for next year. I.E.: he's the one most likely to contribute next year. .
  2. Rich Hill 4 strikeouts through 2 innings. Rich Hill looks very confident tonite, he's got his stuff. It will be another dominate outing by R Hill.
  3. Damn, Rich Hill can now get 28 strike-outs now.
  4. Predict Rich Hill 20k game. Then this whole circus can start all over again with Rich Hill and Zambrano leading the staff in potential . . . and injuries. .
  5. Is he really rated #1 you think? What position does he play?
  6. At this point, the Tribune should say, "Jim you don't know how to manage a $90 million+ budget, so we'll see how you handle a $75 million budget." I don't blame the Tribune, they've given Hendry the resources needed to field a contending team, he just doesn't know how to construct a contending team. Possible, but remember the Tribune's #1 priority is making money. They could lower the budget if they wanted to risk less fans going to the games. In any case, it's nice to finally see Wrigely with lots 'o empty seats again. They certainly do deserve it.
  7. You hit it on the NAIL my friend!!
  8. I looked at his #'s. Not too bad. This year they are just decent, but I hear he has bigger #'s in the 2nd half. I know part of it is that he's young and these #'s are good for his age. . What is the average age in AAA anyway? Could we compare him to other guys who have come up and became big players for their franchise? What age were they in their respective organizations. What type of #'s to you see Pie having in 2-3 years from now, if you just had to take a guess?
  9. I guess he got up and STRETCH, you can put it on the boooooooooard, YES!!
  10. I think the Cubs attendance will continue to be a bit low this year. And unless some big moves are made next year, they won't break 3 million. I'm glad it's happening and hopefully the trib will do something about it.
  11. the best run of dempster's career (by faaaaar) was with dusty as his manager. his failings are not dusty's fault...dempster simply has never been a very good pitcher. the person who deserves the most blame is hendry (as usual) for giving him that contract. And his worst run has been under dusty. Dusty didn't let him go 4-8 days without pitching in 2005. Unless you want to dig some stat up to prove me wrong.
  12. Not to put you on the spot, but how could a different manager affect Dempster's control problems. Other than use him more consistently (btw, having a successful team around you seems to make this easier), I don't see how Baker is the issue.
  13. I think, rightly used, he can be a good CLOSER. And he should get the shot of being that, with a new manager and under new coaching. Get this crap coaches the heck out of town. And you've fixed half the problem right there.
  14. right here, I'm one of them. way to use baseless insults. Yeah, I don't know what part of his 33 out of 35 Save Op, 3.13 ERA and 49bb to 89so, EVER told us that he was the least bit good at all.
  15. The #1 hitter should be a good hitter, have a high average because he comes up after the pitcher. And if alot of times the 8 hitter will be on 2nd and 2 outs.
  16. Hey, we're getting your draft pick dammit!
  17. Honestly, It's easy for me to say I hate everything about this peice of carp team out there. But I'll take the hard route and try and be nice. . I absolutely love Hill and Murton and their possible future with the Cubs. I also like Lee, Ramirez, Barret, and Pierre. Don't like and wish they were gone. Cedeno Jones Rusch Bynum
  18. Hey I agree with Pie. He's our top rated prospect, he should get a few weeks of playing time when there is no pressure to win anyway. But we paid prospects for pierre, and we don't want to break his game attendance streak.
  19. The first step would be a great manager and a good coaching staff. That could help immensly. I'm hoping that's what Jim does. Along with a couple top trades/signings ofcourse.
  20. I don't want to go through all of it. But I think it will be the Yankees vs. the Mets, and the Yankees will win the WS.
  21. Scott Moore (along with Roberto Novoa and Bo Flowers [no longer in the minors]) came in excange for Kyle Farnsworth. Here are his AA and AAA numbers this season. Here are his career numbers. Moore was the 8th overall pick in 2002 out of an Orange County, CA high school. sum up. . . pretty good. Not great.
  22. Could someone tell me more about Moore (ok I know that sounds funny  )? So we got him from where, the tigers right? In as part of the farnsworth trade? Moore, what's his minor league #'s. Does he project to be atleast an above average 3B?
