  1. well you've got some clue to how **** sick this team makes me I think it's the beer.
  2. Remember that one year Manny hit 40 homeruns? Because, of course, anyone who uses steroids becomes a superstar slugger. When the evidence against Sosa appears to be he became a superstar slugger, I think it's valid to talk about Manny Alexander's explosive power. Oh and the he cheated using a corked bat excuse, because I speed when I drive. I also murder people I guess. Speeding and Murdering does not equal cheating and cheating on a "higher level". . Your arguement made no sense.
  3. Prior showed a lot more than that in 2005, and had a better history than Miller currently does. So I'm not sure Miller is really less of a risk than Prior. Are you talking about this year or last year? Because I haven't heard anything about Prior. So Miller is more of a possibility to actually pitch and be effective next year than Prior. Until I start hearing about how Prior is doing, I will still feel this way. .
  4. I like Miller. He could be called "rehab" material. But it seems he did most of his "rehab" last year. He was actually quite impressive in his last few starts with LESS velocity. Imagine if he added a MPH or 2 next year? Call me crazy but he could be quite an effective and nice pitcher to have in the rotation. Put it this way. Miller is less of a "risk" as Wood or Prior. Because he actually showed uninterupted progression last year (EX: not going BACK on the DL but actually slowly but surely rehabing and getting better). . I welcome Miller back in a Cubs uni..
  5. Are we talking about matsuzaka or are we talking about when we stopped watching the cubs?
  6. We're just late to the party. Boku wa nihonjin go daisuki desu!!
  7. You guys can delete this post. But the other one should be in transactions if you ask me. After all, it is a, . . .. transaction. .
  8. Maybe MCDUNNOUGH is listening to fans. When he went on Radio interview with WGN he said he listened to their show. He is a smart man while not a baseball man he said he knows what he doesn't know. I think he is coming into this wanting to be much more receptive and he probably hears the fans and the media about OBP. And realizes it's a good idea to address it.
  9. Sorry I skimmed through all new posts, I didn't see it. Shouldn't it be in transactions anyway?
  10. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20061108&content_id=1737045&vkey=pr_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc It was on the radio earlier, and now on cubs.com. This isn't one of the two guys who were highly heralded over hear. Who is this Gerald Perry guy?
  11. Yeah I agree. Just bid 30 and try to sign the guy for 5-6 years at a good contract. (which would deffinatly be considered "an average" salary compared to some of his overpaid pitcher counterparts). .
  12. As the time winds down, we are getting close to when he will have to make a desicion. Do you think Ramirez will end up staying with the Cubs? I realize there is a Ramirez thread, but I want one just geared toward what you think will happen? I think he stays. I think the contract will be about $14.5 mil for 5 years. .
  13. Thanks!! Yeah, I regocnize some of those names.
  14. I wasn't asking why people weren't posting. I'm not asking you to please come here and keep me occupied. I just want to know what all sites you guys go to when one of you comes here and posts news about new article that was written about the cubs? What's all out there? What's considered, the best?
  15. I need some sites to go to while this site is pretty slow right now. And I just need some things to read, cub related? I want to get my internet favorites sorted with several cubs places to visit? I can start with dailyherald.com, rotoworld.com, ect. . But what else do you guys suggest for updated news articles when stuff happens?
  16. Well the Cubs have Jesus on their side now. Now they all can say, "The Cubs can't even win with Jesus.". .
  17. in b4 lock! (though it SHOULD be moved to transactions. .)
  18. Had me until that part. it gives millions of minorities and women chances that they would not have had otherwise. it won't be necessary forever, but it's still necessary. we're less than a generation removed from the civil rights amendment, remember. racism exists in the workplace, it must be forced out by any and all means. Please stop there. AA is good, but is also bad. I tried to leave it at a quick snippet of my experience. Don't make me go further by defending it without acknowledging it's problems.
  19. I always head into elections with the realization that my vote will simply cancel out someone elses vote. This year, I choose you. Topinka may not be any better than 'Balogna Man', but she cannot be any worse. Vote green then. I was planning on writing-in Ditka. Neither of the bums deserve my vote... but Ditka commands it. How about Chuck Norris?
  20. HILARY!!!!
  21. Sammy's da man, and Sammy is also da bad man. I have a love/hate relationship with him. I love things about him, and I hate things about him. If he comes back I hope he hits a respectable amount of HRs.
  22. When will we likely find out who gets him? (see page #?)
  23. Me too!!
