  1. edited because vance got me in before my edit. Fixed to arrange post chronogically the way I want it. 8-)
  2. I thought "attack the arguement, not the person" also included general attacks to anybody. Including childishly bashing baseball players. But I guess I was wrong. So I'll adjust my response to the "cleaver" tongue in cheek that is so excepted over here.
  3. Tons of pitchers lose velocity. Is there something I'm not getting here, or is Prior delusional. Probably just a little shook up from the start today. maybe a little lost confidence. We all have little brain farts now and then. Maybe he's using "you" in reffering to himself. Maybe he's confident that he will regain his normal velocity? Sorry that's all I've got.
  4. You're right. He's a crappy baseball player who happens to be in the Major Leagues (much like Neifi Perez, Rey Rnez, and many others before them). And there's a reason why those men are playing "slow pitch" softball. Fixed. Mods, can we put a stop to this? If I have to stop using these (#@#!) we should have to stop insulting players for the sole purpose of annoying supports of said players. Thank you.
  5. It's pretty much a guarantee. Stupid XM. I guess in this instance I am glad I chose MLB.tv for the spring training.
  6. You're right. He's a major leaguer. And there's a reason why those men are playing "slow pitch" softball.
  7. Best of luck to sammy, and I hope he has the courage this time, to come to wrigley. I'd hope he'd get a warm reception. Yea, because it was his lack of courage that stopped the orioles from playing the cubs in '05. You know, it didnt have anything to do with the way the schedule was made or anything. He sat out of the series vs. white sox. Because of a "sore toe" or something like that. Have you forgotten that?
  8. 8 years with the same outfield. That probably never happened before free agency, let alone after. But, I suppose it could happen. At best I'm thinkin, 3-4 years. Murton is the type of guy you want to keep. Affordable and gives you good #'s. However I just see the Cubs org as the type that would trade him away, before a "jones" type FA which they'd have to pay $5-$10 mil. Hopefully that changes with Mcdunnough.

  10. Just 3 so far-his OBP does lead the team though. Yeah I thought he was supposed to be Neifi #2. (not aimed at you). I agree. These 3 spring training walks show that he's seen the error of his previous 4600 professional plate appearances where he couldn't take a walk even when he didn't have a bat in his hands. Point was. Neifi wouldn't have even taken 1 walk.

  12. He's a little long winded today but Plesac isn't bad. He took Scott Eyre under his wing when he was a young pitcher... he's told this one before. He mentioned it about 2389407123857 times last year. Plesac's an idiot. Very nice.
  13. I'm cuckoo for Cubs baseball!! http://www.ganjatalk.com/forum/images/smilies/crazy.gif
  14. Finally another tv game!! I couldn't take it!! :?    :o :-$ ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) =D> =D>  =D> =D> :-$
  15. I don't know if there is room. Lou likes him. I don't think there's going to be room for Wuertz. That would be a catastrophic mistake. Really? I don't have any emotional attachment to anyone in the pen (except Kerry). I just want people who will get outs... I know Wuertz has been good but he'll have to prove himself with a new manager; he's not the type of player with a guaranteed spot. Speaking of which, I read yesterday that Ohman's spot may be up for grabs. Can you justify how someone like Cotts has a guaranteed spot, but Wuertz doesn't? Not me. If it were me, Cotts would go to AAA. He hasn't proven a thing in ST. Except that he is still no good.
  16. 4 in a row, after Lou lit a fire. Hopefully that means no 7-8 game losing streaks of the Dusty era :D Well, unless he waits UNTIL the team looses 8 games before having a "talk" (IE: like dusty did). Dusty did it leading to a winning streak. However he just waited to long to do it. LOL.
  17. Pat and Ron Steve and Harry Doesn't mean he's mean off the air. Maybe masur's just being respectful. Yeah, your prob. right.
  18. Somehow I think since Masur isn't correcting him. This guy is prob mean off the air It IS rude to do it but I'd correct him each time.
  19. I just listened again and Ron was talking about Angel Guzman. Listen closely and you'll hear Ronny say "Guzman to me has really great stuff." Then Lou says "Guzman has really nice stuff, he really does." "I like the kid Gallagher..." Then he starts gushing about Samardzija. :D He actually says Jeff is "better than all of them." However, he's resigned to Samardzija being sent down so that leaves Angel and Sean. Gallagher's had some struggles since Sunday but if Angel pitches well he could be the darkhorse for the fifth spot. Oh no trust me. i heard it all. I'm a diehard cubs fan, so ofcourse my cubs super hearing went into full effect during this peice. I was just saying, what were the talking about when it FIRST cut in. When Ron sounded aggrivated. I don't EVER, I don't EVER. Was it pitching they were arguing about? Was it a specific cub? Inquiring minds want to know.
