  1. For the fourth time, see here. It also mentions it at cubs.com. I was suprised I thougt he was to pitch later. It said he pitched between 86-90. And it was considered a "small but good step" and a "good outing". . Where are we discussing it here on NSBB? Or has it even been discussed yet?
  2. YAY cubbies!! Too bad it sparked a damn woo woo chant.
  3. I might actually listen to this. I mean, it can't be worse than Dan Plesac, right?
  4. Love the jab at Dusty. It's comforting to know that we're not the only ones who detest(ed) his managerial style. Talk to most fans from SF, they knew it too! Oh yeah. My editor is a Giants fan and he asked me the other day if Hill had a guaranteed spot in the rotation and I told him that Hill did. He made some comment about how that wouldn't be the case if Dusty was managing. Dusty's rotation. . Zambrano Lilly Marquis Miller Cotts
  5. Do not fret my friend. For starting tommorow Cubs games will be available in video form Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (and it doesn't list further than that). . It'll be hard listening to Hawk tommorow, but I just have to see my Cubs! That's very cool! Yeah it's getting late into ST. So most games will be on TV. I think Guzman pitches tommorow vs. the sox. You can watch him if you're in chicago or have MLB.tv. If you can stomach listening to Hawk-clown nose-Harrelson.

  7. Thank God games are on TV again tommorow. :x
  8. Guys I can't log on. I switched from sbc a few months back and now it's saying the account is unavailable due to switching away from paid service. I dont' know what to do. I'm gonna try whatever I can. That's why I've been unable to accept trades.
  9. yeah I've read that. What's your opinion on that?
  10. I'm gald you were able to listen to it I wanted to confirm what I heard but the clip was silent. yeah I had to download the full show. Olbermann basically said everyone he talked to. "EVERYONE". That Arod's been saying over the winter "he was gonna be with Lou next year with the Cubs". Take that for whatever you want. But then this week on Yankee nation radio he has said things like he 100% wants to be a Yankee. Either Arod is feeble, or someone is lying. If it's the former, give me a feeble 1.000 OPS hitter on my team, plz. :D
  11. I thought it was something like Olberman. But I didn't care about his name. Did Arod really say what he said she said he said?
  12. Yeah oberman did say he heard everyone say Arod said that. However how good are his sources? I like where this is headed. 8-)
  13. No way do I trade ARam after the discount he gave us. ARod is going to be a declining player, while ARam's current contract takes him just to his early 30's. I'd move ARod to 2b if he can't play SS. He may no longer have the range for SS, but there's a great many old slow guys that have gotten by OK at 2b *cough*JeffKent*cough*. For that matter, we could trade Murton and put him in left, or trade Jones and Pie and put Murton in right. I agree if he really wants to play for the Cubs, you find a place for him, but ARam is about the last guy I'd move. Right. There are a few places that might be "easier" on him. I'd rather have the upgrade of Arod over Derosa or Jones than Arod over Aram (even if it is an upgrade, it's not enough of one). .
  14. We have to be an insider right? So that means you have to be a paying member to listen to their podcasts? I don't remember it being that way but recently it appears to ask to log in to listen to them. Well I signed up but now that clip is totally silent. I'm trying to download the full show. On wednesday's segment (arod & the yankees) he mentions (mockingly). . Arod and the Cubs.
  15. Would be nice if fate rewarded us with the cardinals turn for injuries and sucktatude. But I doubt it.

  17. I highly doubt that would really have any effect on how he pitches. I don't. These are still human beings after all. And Guzman is a young one at that. Do you not beleive confidence breeds better pitching? Or do you just think that being called up sometime a month into the season will not give him any more jitters than if he were to start the season with the club? I just think it's kind of ridiculous to suggest he'll pout if he's only called up because somebody went down, and it'll effect his pitching. They are human beings, but they are also professionals. And in Guzman's case, a professional with many years of pro experience. I never said he'd pout, did I. I said it might effect his confidence. If he beats out everyone in spring training, that IS a boost to confidence, don't you think?

Do you not beleive confidence breeds better pitching? Or do you just think that being called up sometime a month into the season will not give him any more jitters than if he were to start the season with the club? All I'm saying is he'd be slightly better off starting the season with the cubs than being called up later.
  19. I'd rather see Guzman win the job with superior performance. It seems like his confidence would be better starting the season with the cubs because he pitched better than his compitition. Rather than being called up a few weeks into the season because someone went down.
  20. A radio broadcast of Thursday's game will be available through Gameday Audio. XM won't be carrying it since it's a Cubs home game but WGN radio isn't broadcasting it. Hmm, that's funny. Last time I checked there are no broadcasts until Friday. :?
  21. Oh, right, the information gained from nine or so innings that he has thrown against a collection of minor leaguers, with some major leaguers tossed in. Is it the 1.44 WHIP that excites you? San Diego is in luck, I mean, Termell Sledge is now a HR hitter. It's not who he's facing. It's that he's been able to consistantly throw the ground balls. He's been able get groundballs for exactly 9 whole innings against players, many of whom will not be in the majors this year. Tell me you can tell the difference. He's locating his sinker well, who he's facing has no bearing on his mechanics, or his location. Tell me you can tell the difference.
