  1. Oh, right, the information gained from nine or so innings that he has thrown against a collection of minor leaguers, with some major leaguers tossed in. Is it the 1.44 WHIP that excites you? San Diego is in luck, I mean, Termell Sledge is now a HR hitter. It's not who he's facing. It's that he's been able to consistantly throw the ground balls.
  2. There will be no games available, for us to see or watch, until Friday.
  3. And yet, I'd rather be trapped in an El-car with Woo Woo than have to listen to Plesac call another game. You know. If there is one thing about Woo-woo. . . . What I learned when pitching is that hitters, when being selective at the plate. Will take that first ball. And other teams see that. And that's really what Carlos Zambrano needs to do here. Because you really need him down the stretch, in august and september. When pitchers are aggresive with their strikes, that gives them the opportunitity to be ahead of the count, and give themselves a chance to set up their "out" pitch. One thing I learned being a pitcher at the Major leagues, is Carlos Zambrano has been able to walk guys, but be so good, that he can still get out of the inning unscathed. . . . Speaking of innings. . . what inning is it?
  4. http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2007-03/28379341.jpg Barry: Man I tell ya. "White people". .
  5. I just don't understand the baseball lingo in this. Sean Gallagher: non roster invitee? :?
  6. Nobody you say looks like Popeye looks even remotely like Popeye in any form. I don't know. I think Burnitz kinda looks like robin williams' popeye. http://www.nostalgiacentral.com/images_movie/popeye_02.jpg
  7. Because he has a carreer 4.55 ERA and he sucks. And I just don't wanna!!
  8. uuh. Basically who is Holdzkom and when did we get him? Was he a prospect via trade that we shipped off before? I thought I heard that name somewhere before.
  9. I thought it was more like this. . http://www.doubledogmusic.com/images/2005/jeromy_burnitz.jpg http://www.moah.org/exhibits/archives/movies/images/popeye.jpg
  10. The league might catch on at some point.
  11. With our offense, that's really not that bad. He'll be ok the first couple of months. I just hope he keeps it up.
  12. It's not odd to think he will keep the patience. Will he keep the high OBP? No. But he appears pretty patient out there. And I like that. Especially in a hitter who has very little power, like Izturis.
  13. You all remember the marmol bandWGN last year? Well where is he now? Not on our team that's for sure. No bandWGN's plz. 8-)
  14. From what some people said over on the cardinals board. He tends to do very well the first couple of months. And then he starts sucking. So I'm crossing my fingers and hoping against hope that Marquis can be good all year. I have faith he can.
  15. have fun guys. I'm gonna go listen upstairs, since my audio is so far behind PBP.
  16. well, it's waaaaaay ahead of gameday audio. .
  17. Is the game on 720? yes. aaaaahh, maybe that's why I'm so far behind. I'm listening to gameday audio.
  18. Why am I sooo far behind, like EVERYBODY on gameday audio?
  19. damnit vance. I'm behind you by 10-20 seconds.
  20. marquis continues his ground ball ways. Hopefully he sticks with that throughout the season.
  21. over/under on further screen resolution talk? I say 4.
  22. Beaver Cleaver? Freudian slip?
  23. You're right. He's a crappy baseball player who happens to be in the Major Leagues (much like Neifi Perez, Rey Rnez, and many others before them). And there's a reason why those men are playing "slow pitch" softball. Fixed. Well the arguement was he wouldn't belong in a line-up of a "slow pitch softball team". However I beleive none of those "slow pitch softball" players, could even break .050 in the majors. So I beg to differ. 8-)
  24. I thought "attack the arguement, not the person" also included general attacks to anybody. Including childishly bashing baseball players. But I guess I was wrong. Bashing baseball players with silly names may be childish, but unless they are posters here, people who do so aren't really violating forum rules. You got me in before the edit. But I guess I was wrong. So I'll adjust my response to the "cleaver" tongue in cheek that is so excepted over here.
