  1. The most suprising stat for me is that Soriano has 23 walks and the TheRiot leads w/ 26. Not a lot of ab's but Reed, Fontenot and Ronny are better than I expected. I knew Lee was struggling but not this much. Dero is still keeping his great year going. I wish I could say I was suprised at how bad Fukudome is doing but I'm not. 2. I think Huff and Lou clashed pretty badly in Tampa.
  3. Word. If he had a better arm it would not even be close. Scappy Gritmeister. Theriot has been awesome at the plate, but his defense stinks. It's not just the arm. I think you are overstating how bad his defense is - I would say it is marginal - he makes the routine plays pretty well it is just that he has limited range b/c of his weak arm.
  4. should have been a triple - he is taking lessons from Ararmis
  5. I just got home too and I hate it - the camera angles are even worse.
  6. whoops - forgot I was in transactions - can someone move this for me?
  7. I will admit I was pretty young when the Hawk patrolled RF for the Cubs but when Brenley stated that Fuku is the best defensive right fielder we have had since the Hawk I was suprised b/c I remember him have a very good accurate arm but not much range. Fukudome to me is about perfect in RF(excellent range, above average arm) and watching him go get Pierre's ball in the gap the other night makes me think he would be above average in center also.
  8. Any interest in Freddy? He is reportedly waiting until he is healthy to sign with anyone which could be in June or July. If healthy he could be a good replacement for Marquis as he has shown the ability to miss bats in the past and we would not have to trade anyone to get him. I am not optimistic about Lou giving Hill another chance this year and while I like Marshall I would like to do better. from rotoworld Freddy Garcia's agent said Wednesday that his client will wait until he's healthy before signing. In that case it may be midseason before he's ready to ink a deal, but Garcia was in Red Sox camp Wednesday being examined by Boston's training staff. "We think the Mets, the Yankees, Boston, those teams are going to be competing, and their specific needs will become more evident by June and July," agent Peter Greenberg said. "Right now's not the right time for us to think about signing him with any one team."
  9. It was a great catch but he caught right before the Hill.
  10. Am I the only one that thinks that ball should have been caught? I'd have to see a replay. It would have been a helluva play. He backed up on the ball and it landed about 5 feet from him.
  11. Am I the only one that thinks that ball should have been caught?
  12. Those were both incredible throws - He got Willy Tavares at 3rd easily on a throw I didn't think he should even make. Most cf's would have just thrown it into 2nd to keep the player at 1st from advancing.
  13. Fukudome took a bad route on that one and cost us a run
  14. no kidding - I thought it might drop in front of Sori
  15. I think he was suprised how far down the line Z was and rushed his throw.
  16. that was not a good angle but I think that was a look what I found type of play
  17. Bad rule... Pat was talking about how a couple years ago at Wrigley someone caught the ball, ran three, or four steps, hit the wall, and dropped the ball. It was not called an out. I remember that play by Preston Wilson - it was not called an out but it was one of the best catches I have ever seen - he hit the wall hard and sprained both wrists on the play.
  18. That one is on Dero not TheRiot DeRosa didn't bobble the ball in his glove, nor did he throw it to first base with Ecksteinian velocity. it was a bad throw to 2b - I will give you that a better SS could have still made the play
  19. I am in an AL only auction league that drafts Tuesday and have not had a lot of time to prepare. I know all the prospects that have made the 25 man rosters and the other major ones like Longoria, TB pitchers, but I need help with some of the lesser known prospects that could play later this year and start next year. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
  20. I would vote for Lumberjack by Jackyl
  21. I am surprised Corey has not signed w/ anyone yet - he had a solid 2nd half for Baltimore .313 .331 .458 and is young enough and good enough defensively that I would think a few teams would give him a chance. I am not in favor of the Cubs being one of those teams FWIW.
  22. I don't think the fact that it is legal there is as important as the fact that it was cockfighting instead of dogfighting. If this was dogs it would be a huge deal.
  23. I remember a lot of people being upset about trading Willis - The Cubs did not want to trade him but the Marlins would not do the deal w/out him. I agree he would not have made the majors as soon w/ the Cubs as he did with the Marlins.
