Doubling his AAV and term of 3/35 would be 6/140. Nico is my favorite player, but that would be a bit more than I'd like for a player with no power playing a non premium position.
I believe small market teams feel like they have no chance to compete currently so they keep payroll low to make more $$$. With a cap (and floor) they will have a much better chance to compete and will be fine spending more.
I could see a small trade, but I'd be shocked if Kingery makes the team. I'm think Shaw is the backup for infield (hopefully rarely needed) and Shaw and Carlson for outfield. I don't want to see Conforto use his glove.
There are some studs at DH, but a lot of chumps as well. MoBaller would be top 10 for me. I have high expectations for him though. Looking forward to see the final rankings.
Who is 1st and 3rd? Very good underrated player, but I don't see him getting a huge 5+ year deal. Afraid he could end up in Cincy where it seems he is Babe Ruth.
Was just watching a little bit of the game and I think Carlson is closer to the plate than Rizzo used 2 be. Mo followed him and was probably a foot further away. I'm guessing that is new for Dylan and maybe attributing to his success. Hard to believe he is only 27.
Not all umps had the same zone before - gonna be great to have consistency. I believe more balls will change to strikes than strikes to balls as catchers will be trusted to challenge more and have the best view.
