    regain some confidence maybe? He's not an idiot; he's not going to go beat up on minor league pitching for a week and then think, "psh, this MLB thing is no problem!" Confidence isn't his problem; a lousy contact rate and trouble with a lot of pitches is his problem right now.

    If they wait for a period where he's not striking out a ton then they might as well never bring him up at all. Even if he does click and pan out he's going to be a ridiculous hack machine.

    No, he's probably just going through an adjustment period; it's relatively rare when rookies don't have at least a month or two in their first year where they don't struggle, sometimes mightily. I'm sure it's frustrating as hell, but there's little reason to chalk it up to something as nebulous as lost confidence when it's pretty obvious pitchers are just currently exploiting his contact issues when it comes to the lower half of the zone.

    Yes, by OPSing under .600 this season, he's definitely done that. Yes, everyone knows he's had a terrible season. Talking about DFAing or releasing him at this point is dumb.

    Does it really matter what the Pirates are doing at this point? With an upcoming series against them, I would say yes. Meh; I'm pretty much only focused on that second WC spot.

    If I could get to 3 days/13.whatever hour-shifts I would do it in a heartbeat. Sounds like you get to avoid the traffic hours too. Although I suspect in DC you ride the Metro or whatever it's called. Nah, there's no traffic either way, luckily. My commute ends up being only about half an hour. Living in Northern, VA? Yup. It's a miracle that I'm outside of the many, many, MANY gridlock hours.
