  1. Yeah, no kidding; people talk like he was trotting him out there when better options existed and they didn't. Now they do. They have little to no reason to keep playing Starlin as a starter once Baez comes up unless he somehow completely turns it around and starts playing out of his mind, which seems pretty damn unlikely to happen.
  2. You routinely sound like someone who gets so mad over sports they end up drenched in sweat. It might be healthy to take some time off until they have a few of those mythical "A+ drafts."
  3. If Kyle is being a meatball your statement is being an imbecile. It is an incredibly stupid sentiment. Nope. They're looking to keep their young prospects and allow them to develop with time. All of them? That's...weird. And prospects get traded for players who are only going to give you "2-4 years" of production because most of the time those 2-4 years is a lot more than you'll get from most prospects.
  4. Seriously, why are some of you still questioning whether or not they'll bench Castro? They were just all but openly trying to trade him as hard as they possibly could. Castro torpedoed his claim to start any position a long time ago and held onto it as long as he did because there was nobody else and they were hoping he'd show signs of anything to either justify keeping him or improve his trade value. That didn't happen and he ended up just getting worse to the point that his July was jaw-droppingly bad. Benching him because Baez isn't any kind of question; it's simply inevitable. He'll just move to the bench and that's that.
  5. Who cares? Baez will be up in a week or so and then he's on the bench.
  6. Where does he play can they really bench castro the rest of the season? For the millionth time, YES.
  7. It's bonkers the number of people here who just assume the Cubs are going to be dominating AND somehow making huge trades at the deadline because...reasons?
  8. Hey, you're the one that apparently loves being miserable. Go nuts.
  9. NOOOOOO MY BABY GIVE THEM ALL OF THE BAEZES.
  10. Real dumb luck would be a team like the Bears ending up with either QB. With the Packers is just a li'l pinch of luck.
  11. Tons of teams have kicked the Cubs' ass repeatedly for a long time because we root for a team that has been garbage for most of our lifetimes and beyond. It's haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. but when you can't deny that it's different when your chief rival has been one of the most successful teams in baseball for the past 10 years, it's kind of taxing. Truthfully, I'd rather listen to Cardinals fans, who actually have something to hang their hat on, run their mouth than Brewers fans act as though we share some imaginary , storied rivalry. They've been a much better team for the most part; that's it. As terrible as Bears fans are at least for the most part they seem to get that the Packers are simply a much better run organization as opposed to constantly chalking it up to luck or sorcery or who knows what the [expletive] like Cubs fans constantly do with the Cardinals. i don't care how great an organization GB is, there is a huge amount of luck that comes with going like 25 years with brett favre and aaron rodgers at QB that [expletive] just doesn't happen http://i.giphy.com/8PqOF8uFplSog.gif

  14. It's like you say this every time the Cardinals acquire a new player. Wait, wait, wait....strike the "like."
  15. I never thought it would end like this, sneaky. Not like this.

  17. tree's next MS Paint should just be of a Cubs fan beating off over a farm system ranking as the world burns behind them.
  18. Dammit, I know Maddon's just trying to get everyone rest and it's likely Rizzo's turn today, but after the last couple of games I would hate to see him sitting.
  19. Who was saying that Astros don't have better playoff odds? The point is that the Cubs are still in a good position to make the playoffs and their odds can swing wildly back in their favor in very short order, and it's ridiculous that someone would be OK with them doing nothing to ideally better their chances of making it and advancing basically because better teams exist. Well, you basically did when you said that both the Cubs and Astros are fighting to get into the playoffs. In all likelihood, they're getting in. The Cubs are a toss up. They're still trying to do what they can to ensure they get in and they advance; the Cubs ideally are doing the same, and have even more motivation to do so. I honestly don't get why some people here seem to be saying that teams with the best playoff odds are the ones who should be making the most/biggest/or even any moves as opposed to the ones who need to fight more to get in. That doesn't make any sense.
  20. Gives me better boners than some dusty ol' dude.
