  1. I didn't get home until 3 AM last night because of that stupid game. 3 AM. Like an ANIMAL. Only filthy degenerates can live like this.
  2. No, it's still gross and lame because we all know you mean it. BRING BACK LOGAN.
  3. Well, now I kinda want to root for a loss so you can never besmirch another playoff game thread.
  4. Yup. horsefeathers the west coast. I want the Nationals to win their series for so many reasons, but ESPECIALLY this one. The NLCS games will be starting around 7pm central time regardless if it is Washington or LA. Good. The west coast can still eat my taint with their ridiculous time nonsense.
  5. Yup. horsefeathers the west coast. I want the Nationals to win their series for so many reasons, but ESPECIALLY this one.
  6. Almora's a baby deer and Heyward has been hitting and remains a paragon of defensive magnificence. Start Heyward.
  7. Why didn't somebody tell me!? OHHHHH I'VE BEEN MAKIN AN IDIOT OUTTA MYSELF! *Inexplicably runs out of the kitchen*
  8. Yeah, but what's more likely? Heyward gives you a good game defensively or Soler has a good game offensively?
  9. That's pretty much what I'm rooting for. I'd probably rather play the Nats but I'll be happy as long as it goes 5. That would knock out Kershaw/Scherzer until Game 3. That would still give him 2 NLCS starts including game 7. But I get wanting to delay that second Kershaw start until as late as possible because there's a chance if he pitches 1 and 5, he can come in relief in game 7 if necessary. Plus you'd hope to finish them off before he can get a second start Look at this guy talking like it goes to game 7.
  10. Phew. I was genuinely worried the Bears were going to not be eating horsefeathers there. Fortunately, all is right with the world.
  11. I was literally in the middle of yelling "WHY THE horsefeathers IS WOOD BATTING?!?" when he donged.
  12. I'll take "who is Soriano but with amazing defense and who sticks at 2B?" for a quadzillion dollars, please, Alex.
  13. I demand greatness and will not settle for coddling mediocrity. You can take your sorry team filled with nothing but Coghlans and La Stellas and stuff 'em in a sack.
  14. I feel like I should be dramatically waking up in a cold sweat after reading this.
  15. Agreed on all cononuts. Would be great to get Cogs bat in the lineup but can't see sitting Zo, Javy, or JHey sitting yet. And I've reversed my position from earlier this year. Javy is too valuable at 2B and KB too good at third to keep Zo on the IF. You get a LF upgrade with KB but at least in Wrigley's small confines I think you want the IF strength more. So...same defensive alignment with hopefully Willson getting the call. I wouldn't be broken up if it was Montero though. If the Cubs were, say, the Giants and wondering where they'd get their offense from each series, OK, I could see really trying to get Coghlan in there. Or Contreras. But since this is a lineup of sexy bat-monsters, they have the luxury to go with someone like Heyward, who is at least all but a lock to give you baller defense (I don't trust the sorcerous deception of Coghlan's supposed late-career defensive renaissance for a second, and especially not if it means him or Zobrist ending up in RF), or someone like Montero, who frames with the deft touch of a Baroque master. Let the good bats do their thing, maximize your defense and pitching strengths and you still have Coghlan and Contreras to hopefully do damage off the bench if needed.
  16. Javy 3B, Zo 2B, Bryant in LF. And presumably Montero catching, though who the horsefeathers knows at this point.
  17. Very weird camera angles for a lot of the game. Like it was oddly elevated behind the pitcher.
  18. I think he should. We might as well make the defense completely airtight in those moments. Yeah, everyone I was with was yelling at the screen when we realized Zobrist was still out there. Totally agreed with the moves Maddon was making in regards to the pitching, but then he leaves Churchy McBibleface out there instead of basically anyone except Soler? Odd. And speaking of Zobrist, was he using different walk-up music all night?
  19. got me a new phone background (replacing the javy HR from mother's day) if anyone wants a huge version http://www.trbimg.com/img-57f86c1e/turbine/ct-cubs-giants-nlds-game-1-photos-043/3600/3600x2024 YOINK. Thanks.
