Yeah, again, dude spent almost a decade with the team, did well, still works for the organization and everyone around him seems to like him. Sure, the impression got real old, real fast, but I wish the Cubs had more players like that hanging around for shits and giggles. It seems like their ex-player collection has been mostly a barren wasteland forever outside of the handful of HOF guys who have been dropping like flies. The other old organizations seem to have plenty of fan and club favorite mid-tier guys around all the time.

Why does everyone keep lumping in Dempster with the likes of Billy Williams, Kerry Wood and Ryno? What exactly did he do that makes him a part of Cubs lore? Solid pitcher, long stretch with the Cubs, still with the organization, apparently well liked by everyone.
