  1. Painful. Really? Mateo's barely pitched and Russell got beat on a good pitch by a dribbler ground ball.
  2. Because "unhappy" players are usually that way because they and/or the team are performing poorly, not vice-versa. And how is that quote indicative that he isn't a "team player?" Plus, again, language barrier.
  3. Not at all. His arm dropped oddly after the pitch but other than that no real indication as to what happened.
  4. And the Cubs are taking advantage of it. And an Aaron Heilman sighting. Apparently he was in the running to start for the Diamondbacks. Let that sink in.
  5. No, that was Aramis' homer! Nice one, Colvin.
  6. Yeah, that's pretty damn close. Not a bad take by Fukudome at all.
  7. What the [expletive] was he trying to do on ball 4? Yeah, I know he can get him out, but it's not like Hill was way off the bag.
  8. Koyie Hill is apparently indestructible, at least based on the broken ankle story Bob is telling.
  9. Comcast just had him hitting 96. It's really impressive how he hits those speeds with it looking pretty effortless.
  10. I fully expect him to be. It seems very Cubs to make sure the rookie pitcher has a veteran defense-oriented catcher behind the dish for his starts. Plus one of the things that Hill was credited for in the offseason was helping Cashner specifically. Eh, if it helps Cashner (or he thinks it helps him) then just schedule Hill's starts for most of Cashner's.

Plus one of the things that Hill was credited for in the offseason was helping Cashner specifically. The Cubs are getting pretty good swings early. It's also nice to see that after Ramirez was striking out much more than normal during his slump last year he has 0 strikeouts so far this year. Yeah, Aramis was just wretched the first part of last year. He looked awful at the plate. At least so far this year he's getting hits and seeing the ball well.
  12. Holy God. What is that, 3 or 4 times Aramis has had one off the bat that looked gone? Frustrating, but it's ideally a sign that big things will come soon and he'll have a good year.
  13. How about that opening series between the Indians and White Sox in Cleveland? Sellout opening day and then only about 9,000-10,000 each of the following games.
