  1. Games called due to weather is Serious Business for Aramis Fan. How is he supposed to irrationally complain about the game if it's delayed?
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PXj8m4yZyo Excellent.
  3. Actual chili with spaghetti is pretty great. Skyline chili is just smeared turds.
  4. Can he do it with a really careless attitude yet? He's already sitting around with his bid on top of his head, looking like an (awesome) douche.
  5. For me that's the ideal manager, and the Cubs have had far, far too few of them. I rank manager pretty low on the list of things that significantly impact a team, so a middle of the road, unremarkable guy who you forget is there half the time is just what I want.
  6. Well, I have reviewed some of Brett's batting practice/minor league videos online. Of course, all of the video is crap and none of it provides the best angle. I'm going to use Bryce Harper as a point of reference since they have similar body types, hit left-handed and have similar swings. .... Awesome post. Thanks.
  7. Probably isn't Sveum's decision.
  8. Has it been reported at all that they have tried to get him to change his approach to have more patience/see more pitches? And now he's just entirely messed up. He still has zero patience. He came up right after a walk tonight and I told everyone sitting by me that I'd bet them $20 that he swings at the first pitch. He does, and flies out to CF. So predictable. He got a good pitch and drove a shot to CF. You're talking like he was flailing and hit a weak dribbler or a lazy fly.
  9. Even when the Cubs are good I can't stand the trips out west. The crappy late start times, the stupidly cavernous ballparks where power dies...just a parade of a tedious, boring games more often than not.
  10. WHAT I FOLLOWED HIM THIS YEAR THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE
  11. Pierzynski hit 5 more home runs in less than a week? What kind of [expletive] sorcery is this?
  12. Reed Johnson was also more appealing because a team is off the hook for him. DeJesus is just OK, he's old, and teams are stuck with him another year.
  13. Somewhere a forgotten Jake Fox is reading WSR's posts and weeping.
  14. Thanks for the answers; I am now properly excited for this.
  15. Pretty much all of my awareness of the minors comes from here, but it seems like the general consensus is that Jackson has hit a speedbump in terms of his patience at the plate. I'm assuming that bringing him up now starts the clock sooner than if he were just called up in September...so why would they do this?
  16. Unbelievable. I guess 2 triples in a game makes up for how he's put this line up over the last 4 weeks (during which he managed to start a whopping 14 games, y'know, because he's so amazing and all and surely the Rockies would want him out there as much as possible): .182 .250 .364 .614 complete with 19 strikeouts in 61 PA. His July as a whole was a sunny .200 .263 .457 .720 with 22 strikeouts in 77 PA. Kaplan is unbearable. If he wants to pull for the guy, great, but don't be so disingenuous about it, especially when your [expletive] job is supposedly to analyze sports.
  17. Fuld does have a very impressive Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Fuld I had no idea that the mothers of grown men were writing wikipedia entries for their sons now. Holy hell, that Fuld entry is insane. I think it's a safe bet we now know how he's been spending his time off post-surgery.
