  1. The sponsor on Castro's BR page sums it up very poetically:
  2. i can see the average casual fan being more apt to watch the finals featuring the lakers and heat, but fan support is going to wane in the bigger markets if players flock to cities like miami and la, where sports generally take a backseat to whatever else there is there. Does it really matter where the super teams exist so long as they simply exist, period? It's not like it would be any more difficult these days to follow a super team in, say OKC or Milwaukee as opposed to NYC or Chicago.
  3. Well, maybe. Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with you on the former point; it's hilarious the sheer number of people ready to write off both after their first and second games, respectively. That said, prospects are such a crap shoot to begin with, and both have rather critical flaws, that it wouldn't be all that surprising at all if neither ends up sticking as impact players or even as regulars.
  4. Well, at least Jackson made decent contact.
  5. He's just firing wildly! Nobody is safe!
  6. That Soriano guy is pretty swell.
  7. Well, that's ironic.
  8. Now Castro joins the error parade.
  9. Jesus, Tim; you don't need the traffic THAT badly.
  10. Yes, that's a big guy who has to play 1B and will have to hit as a DH sooner rather than later to maintain his value.
  11. Yeah, if anything this year makes me even more excited for his future. We know he can hit and steal bases...but now he can defend, too. That's a combination that equates to beast mode for a long time.
  12. It's like Aramis Fan's dream game.
  13. Games called due to weather is Serious Business for Aramis Fan. How is he supposed to irrationally complain about the game if it's delayed?
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PXj8m4yZyo Excellent.
  15. Actual chili with spaghetti is pretty great. Skyline chili is just smeared turds.
  16. Can he do it with a really careless attitude yet? He's already sitting around with his bid on top of his head, looking like an (awesome) douche.
  17. For me that's the ideal manager, and the Cubs have had far, far too few of them. I rank manager pretty low on the list of things that significantly impact a team, so a middle of the road, unremarkable guy who you forget is there half the time is just what I want.
  18. Well, I have reviewed some of Brett's batting practice/minor league videos online. Of course, all of the video is crap and none of it provides the best angle. I'm going to use Bryce Harper as a point of reference since they have similar body types, hit left-handed and have similar swings. .... Awesome post. Thanks.
  19. Probably isn't Sveum's decision.
  20. Has it been reported at all that they have tried to get him to change his approach to have more patience/see more pitches? And now he's just entirely messed up. He still has zero patience. He came up right after a walk tonight and I told everyone sitting by me that I'd bet them $20 that he swings at the first pitch. He does, and flies out to CF. So predictable. He got a good pitch and drove a shot to CF. You're talking like he was flailing and hit a weak dribbler or a lazy fly.
