  1. Yes. Unremarkable outside of saying people should blame the FO for team talent deficiencies and not the manager.
  2. How's your doom boner, half mast? Inappropriate use of doom boner; Castro truly sucks this year.
  3. Why would anyone go to the trouble of faking most of the [expletive] that's faked on the internet? It looks like the ball slows down when it passes his head before speeding back up.
  4. That's gotta be fake. Got it from here: http://www.sbnation.com/2013/6/19/4445202/gif-tournament-iv-scott-feldman-vs-david-ross Still think it's fake; guys getting drilled in the head usually don't even have time to react, yet he has time for a reaction like that and it's that close to him?
  5. That's gotta be fake.
  6. The future's so bright I gotta wear shades...to hide the tears.
  7. About time. No kidding. Beane with money...yowza.
  8. Though his site's layout has somehow grown even more ugly.
  9. I don't understand this perspective. Maximize your chances with what you have. This team is a bad team, yes, but what correct management of the pen, the Cubs probably have at least 3-4 more wins. It's not like managers have a shelf life where we'd be wasting their prime. But why fire him over it? His bullpen management annoys the piss out of me, but you'd think it's the kind of glaringly obvious thing that the people above him could point out or just flat out tell him not to do. I know they have to walk a fine line and not be seen as an overbearing FO stepping on the manager, but there has to be a way.
  10. Well, no; he didn't put him into a high leverage spot.
  11. That or they're just making him trot him out there in an attempt to salvage any value or something, since there's not really anything to lose. I mean, there's just no other way to explain how he keeps getting chances to [expletive] up in spectacular fashion. It's not just his misuse of Marmol that's the issue; he has consistently made questionable or obviously bad pitching decisions that have cost this team way, way more losses than they should have right now. He's managed to make a bad bullpen even worse.
  12. I wish it was more comforting that my "HE SUCKS UNDER PRESSURE" hunch was right. Just make him go awaaaaaaaaaaaaay.
  13. Nobody has suggested he is "tanking on purpose." The frustration is based both on how good he used to be and how he's even shown this very season he can still put together good outings. It would actually be better if he was nothing but terrible because he would have been gone long ago.
  14. Len went into the whole thing saying "here we go" and just sounded so completely nonplussed when the Mets won it.
  15. He got one out, and it was a [expletive] sacrifice. Just end it and get rid of him.
  16. Christ, this put me in a bad [expletive] mood.
  17. You said it best a few posts above. Put him back in a closing situation with some pressure, and the dude just melts down. But the thing is, there should have been basically no pressure. He MADE the pressure. It's a horrible team, it's the bottom of their lineup; even after the first HR he's still in the driver's seat and he somehow manages to pitch them out of a victory.
  18. Yes, that's their diabolical plan. Fantastic detective work.
  19. How the [expletive] does he do this against the bottom part of a lineup this wretched? He just managed to string together several good relief appearances, and then comes out with absolutely nothing in maybe the best possible situation for him to actually get a save. How broken is this guy?
  20. Hysterical. I could not have been more wrong about not minding Marmol coming in. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck him.
  21. WHY THE [expletive] IS HE STILL IN THERE?
  22. Unbelievable. It's like clockwork how he just loses it again the second they give him any kind of pressure.
