    Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...how so? This is painful to watch. It's not like a bunch of crazy stuff has happened. Plus, they can't score runs and the promising young players aren't performing. I don't see the fun in this. Yeah, it would infinitely more tolerable if Castro and Rizzo and (to a lesser degree) Castillo were kicking ass and they were still losing, but those guys are varying level of bad to "OMG, I THINK HE HAS BASEBALL CANCER." Makes it hard to enjoy "fluke" success like Feldman or Gregg or Schierholtz when 3 of the 4 guys you kinda really needed to have a good year are turding it up.

    Basically any defensive value he is is almost completely based on his ability to throw out base stealers/pick off runners. If he can't maintain that everything else defensively is pretty bad.

    I can't believe after having the day he did and then having a day off, he was patient at all his first at bat. On base in his last 7 ABs Isn't it 3 BBs and 4 HRs? Whatever TF he wants. I clearly am insane and don't study prospects at all close enough to make this statement, but I wouldn't trade Javy for any prospect in baseball right now. I know he has a huge bust potential, but I also think he has the highest ceiling of any guy in the minors. Yeah, but you wouldn't be trading a guy like him for prospects; you trade him to get a young (relatively) established player who can ideally produce now.

    Of course; look at how often guys like Milton Bradley were given third, fourth, fifth, etc. chances. Stewart is still under 30, would be cheap, a former highly touted prospect, plays decent defense and still has the reasoning/excuse of his relatively recent surgery as why he might still succeed despite his struggles. I have no idea why you think this would be so career-ending when tons of people who have been much, much, much worse, both on and off the field, have bounced around.

    Because he's a better defender than Baez will ever be? Nevermind Baez likely won't be up until 2015; I'm hugely let down by Starlin so far this year, but it's just a tad premature to be thinking he's a lock to needing to be moved to make room for someone else almost two years from now.
