  1. Seriously, why not warm up Marmol and someone else at the same time?
  2. Byrd's actually been decent this year; he'd already hit 10 this year before that one.
  3. That said I would still have someone up and ready to go backing him up.
  4. Against the bottom of this lineup, who cares? Pretty much; this is actually kind of an ideal situation to see if you can get another good outing from Marmol to see if you can muster even a sliver of trade value.
  5. Seriously. It looks amazing. Just for the nachos alone! Who knew you weren't just limited to a pool of tepid nacho cheese sauce and stale jalapenos? BREAK FREE OF THE BUM'S WORLD.
  6. It cannot be said enough how good Len and JD are.
  7. Man, the renovation plans for Wrigley are worth it for the expanded food options alone; I'm jealous seeing what they can get in NY.
  8. Murton probably could have stuck around in a platoon role.
  9. Happens at least once a year it seems. Wonder how much longer it will be before pitcher's will have to wear a helmet, or some kind of less obtrusive protective device. They had a piece on this on BT tonight; apparently MLB has approached two companies about developing protection for pitchers. The prototypes were basically caps with padded kevlar and seem to fit pretty well and didn't really look all that different.
  10. I'm going on Saturday with my dad for Father's Day. I've been on a Wrigley tour, but that was awhile ago; this doesn't sound very different: tour the guts of the stadium, get to go on the field, apparently play a little catch. Sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon.
  11. Someone, please, be the hero this inning. Raley isn't going to cut it.
  12. Man, where has this bullpen been all year?
  13. In what way? Well, the Cardinals are still rolling and we are just about on pace to lose 100 again. Well, yeah, but you're presenting it like there was something comparable to begin with; there wasn't. People can argue the merits of "the plan" all they want, but ultimately you're just talking about a bad team that got worse and a good team that stayed good.
  14. In what way? You can survive losing a player even as good as Pujols as long as you do a good job of building the rest of the team and developing players.
  15. Spiegs responses: Personally I think Spiegel looks stupid complaining about this on twitter. Meh it's not too professional to take shots at a guy in the same position as you They're meatballs. Their job is to say meatball things.
  16. No idea how you think this comparison makes any sense.
  17. saw one at cedar point last year, this guy had a cheesy looking royal flush with the caption (verbatim): "its the cards your delt in life, its how you play the game" Holy Hell.
