  1. Don't be so sure. I'm sure Michigan will be scheduling them before too long. If this is a slam on Michigans Schedule, I think its off base. Michigan certainly could schedule tougher, but they are not nearly as shameful as others(including most of the SEC). They have Notre Dame on their Schedule and have tried hard to have other quality BCS teams on their schedule. That is 2 quality non-conference games most years. A lot of schools dont have 1. They also havent shied away from playing other BCS schools on the road. Again I am not comparing them to USC, but I could easily name 30 schools that dont schedule as good. I think Michigan played Oregon on the road once before. That's the only out of conference game other than ND I can even remember them playing on the road - let alone home games against decent teams. Yes, I'm glad they renewed the ND series, though. You may want to ask some of the Michigan fans, but I am pretty sure in the last 10 yrs they have also played at UCLA, Washington, Oregon and Syracuse. They have also tried to get Home and Homes with several top SEC schools and have been turned down. How many Top 25 schools even schedule Oregon and Notre Dame in the same season? They scheduled Oregon, Washington and Syracuse when they were a Top 25 team every year also. Again can they do better? Yes. Are they nearly as shameful as some? No There is no way they have played at UCLA and Syracuse, I would remember being impressed. Not sure about Washington. But your point's taken. Michigan is hardly the worst. Hell, almost every top-flight SEC team is much worse.
  2. 8.59 if you take out his decent start against the Mets. 0.00 if you take out any start in which he has given up an earned run.
  3. 1.5 ahead you mean? Yeah, whoops.
  4. Ryan "What Big League Learning Curve?" Braun killed us again. Not that big a deal. We'll be 1.5 out after tonight with the pitching advantage tomorrow.
  5. Cy Injured Sheets. We'll get our hits off Milwaukee's bullpen, but will they come with anyone on?
  6. Wouldn't be remotely surprised if that's who it was. :D
  7. That was a miserable half inning. We'll wake up around the 7th or 8th again. Just hope Milwaukee doesn't have any more runs by that point.
  8. Please win to go up 3. Thanks. Good job so far, Z. He looks real solid.
  9. either of them would have been out by five feet. they would be more likely to get hurt than get a hit there. Its beyond obvious that DLee/ARam wouldn't have beaten a play like that out, but as recent examples, that single of DLee's that landed right by the OOB padding in RF last night... most likely should have been a 2B. But again... I didn't bring it up to cause thread-consuming debate/argument. DLee didn't run that ball out last night because it was foul. At least, I thought it was.
  10. Z made Fielder look pretty silly.

  12. 16 mph in from center field, according to game day. That's actually good news. Very good. we don't hit homers anyway, so might as well make it so Milwaukee has to work harder to get them.
  13. I LOL'ed.
  14. Hopefully this will kill all that "Aram is lazy" crap certain Chicago writers like to spew. Thanks ARam. No more games like last night, though.
  15. It was Daron Sutton who said that, Brenneman does Reds games now. I don't blame you though, they have similar voices. Sutton called it "a joke" that Ramirez basically walked off the basepath once Hudson fielded his grounder during our win in that series.
  16. if that happens, go ahead and enshrine duncan at the end of the year. im damn near ready to do it already We probably should. It's absolutely ridiculous that the Cardinals are even sniffing .500, let alone a division lead, with the patchwork rotation they've had all year long. Wainwright is a legitimate No. 2 starter, but everyone else in the rotation is not good and hasn't been for a while.
  17. You would think. I busted out my lucky It's Gonna Happen shirt last night. The two times I've worn it were the night we took first on 8/1 and last night. I'm saving it for the next time they need a big win. Tonight it's the Ramirez t shirt in hopes of activating his mojo.
  18. This post is a genius. I read through the GT after the game and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I consider myself (and others consider me) a very pessimistic sports fan but I never thought the Cubs were screwed last night. Rich pitched great for the most part. I hope he can keep it up.
  19. Don't be so sure. I'm sure Michigan will be scheduling them before too long.
  20. .368 in July. .378 in August. No one is disputing he sucked before then.
  21. i'm guessing it's gonna be harder to score tickets to next week's game hotels are so full that people are renting rooms in their houses for $1500+ for the Notre Dame weekend Notre Dame needs to get embarrassed early and often. I don't know if PSU is good enough to "embarrass" the Irish, but they certainly are plenty capable of beating them. I'll be very excited if ND can scrape a split of the PSU/Michigan road games in back to back weeks. On a side note, I can't remember a harder first 8 games for ND in my life. Every team the Irish plays until the calendar turns to November has a great shot at winning their conference except UCLA (only because USC is there) and maybe BC.
  22. Ramirez 04-06 was better than Ramirez 07. But Lee has been better than 04 Lee, which has been good enough.
  23. What about his .851 OPS since the ASB and .931 OPS in August? And out of CF. Granted, for the whole season he still hasn't lived up to his salary (hell, there probably isn't a single person making above the minimum on this team who has), but he's been great lately. And he hasn't been hacking at that pitch in the dirt as much, which is probably a big part of why.
