  1. I was thinking about cranking one up once schedules start trickling out in August.

  3. Next season, after his first bad start, the Cubs should promptly demote him to the pen. Very very nice to see Shark pitch well tonight. I've grown much less enamored of him as a prospect this season but it goes without saying that I would love nothing more than to see him end up being a good pitcher for the Cubs.
  4. Was also going to mention, based on the voting totals, it's looking like the Cubs will get Soto, Soriano and Fukudome in to the ASG as starters and Zambrano and most likely Dempster will be in as pitchers. Z could have a shot to start the game if he keeps winning and Webb doesn't return to early-season form. I want Aramis to get in as the NL 3B though, he deserves it. Even though that would probably bump Dempster, who also deserves it.
  5. That's tempting, actually. My sister gave me a $15 iTunes gift card for college graduation - guess what the first thing I used it on was?
  6. I was in the middle of cussing Wood out when Reed caught that ball. I don't need any more of this excitement thing. Let's just kick their ass tomorrow.
  7. Um, the phrase is "moo point" No, it's "moot point" http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/moot_point If this was an inside joke or something else that went over my head, forgive me. No, it's moo point. Duh. Like a cow's opinion. It doesn't matter. Have I been posting with you for too long or did that just make sense?
  8. Dunno, but Southpaw had the 7-game win streak last year, so he and Erik are the class of the starters at the moment.
  9. I love coming into games and expecting wins. It's just plain weird to be this good. No team I've followed closely in any sport on a day to day basis has been as good as this year's Cubs.
  10. 13-2 against the NL West - that's just ridiculous.
  11. Probably, but ESPN don't care about no stinkin' regulations.
  12. Flip Saunders, perhaps? I should hope not.
  13. I love not even having to worry about the Cubs. And STL got their butts kicked today, too.
  14. I was at Cedar Point on Wednesday and the Cubs got their first walk-off win of the year. I was working today and the Cubs get their most incredible victory in years. Nothing can possibly wipe the grin off my face at how good we are but that sorta sucks. 34-21 though. :D
  15. Scott Martin, late of Purdue, will join Ben Hansbrough as a transfer to Notre Dame starting in the 2009-10 season. Very nice.
  16. Great way to start Rose's career here. Idiotic.
  17. I'm 6'4", so if I could run a 4.2 40 I could be a wide receiver. But like Jon said, being fast would be awesome for many practical reasons too.
  18. Why does Soriano have to be so popular? I'd rather see Marmol get his deserved recognition.
  19. And here I thought there was at least one ND guy people didn't hate.
  20. Put the Dodgers in the http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e67/ndistops/Dumpster.jpg
  21. I'm not holding out any belief in that anymore. The Cubs will have to win 95 games for me to feel secure.
  22. And guess who became the first NL team to win 30 games instead of us because of that? The St. Louis Flipping Cardinals.
  23. Skip is 3/5 tonight, Schumaker 4/4 and Ankiel just went yard to put STL up 11-3. Good night for the leading examples of Cardinals magic. Please tell me that at least one of Schumaker, Miles, Ludwick, and Ryan were highly touted prospects. PLEASE. "Brennan" Ryan was the Cardinals' 7th-best prospect before 2005 according to Baseball America - although this is hardly a list of greatness (Brad Thompson, Wainwright, Reyes and SuperDuncan are the only other of the 5 who have even been in the majors). Ludwick turns 30 in July. The other two both sucked as far as I can tell.
