    I'm getting tired of seeing people bitching about the Brewers schedule (not that you're bitching, and not that this is directed towards you). Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the Cubs and Brewers basically play the same teams the same number of times this year? More or less. The difference is we played more easy teams in the early months and Milwaukee is getting a lot of them at the end. Not convenient.

    What about their first opener against Virginia? Sarcasm aside, I have to credit USC for continually playing actual football teams in their non-conference schedule, which is more than can be said for the vast majority of other big-time programs. You ain't kidding. They play the best schedule I've looked at yet. It's even more impressive after I took a second look. They play a Pac-10 schedule (which isn't great but is far from a cakewalk), then they play @Virginia, Ohio State and Notre Dame out of conference. Not one cupcake to be found (obvious joke about ND being a cupcake inserted here).

    aren't there rules regarding this? Apparently, she was eligible because she is a Russian citizen (gained while she was playing there) and has never represented the U.S. in international play. I think it's ridiculous, personally.

    Only after the coaches had to promise that none of the gymnasts would get hurt during their training. Al Trautwig said on the air at one point that any Chinese that had TV's on in the country were watching that event...I wondered aloud if that was because the government ordered them to.

    If Ohio State beats USC I'm going to be PO'd. It's bitter and it's ludicrous but I hate the Buckeyes more than I could ever hate SC and it's getting worse every year lately.

    Justin Horton, silly 'how we roll' comments aside, might be my favorite human male athlete of these Games (Phelps isn't human). He just flat-out kicked ass tonight and had a blast doing it. China is just light-years better than everybody else, though. Jebus.

    Ryan Theriot being the toughest out on the team says more about how mediocre Derrek Lee has been this year than about Theriot, but we have gotten our fair share of breaks this year. Cardinals are still more ridiculous though.

    In all likelihood, I'll be pulling the 'drive up just for Wrigleyville' routine as well, but that won't stop me from trying to win tickets in the VWR.

    Webb owns us, Haren is really good, and Johnson has that little 1.000 winning percentage against us to contend with. And now they have Dunn. I am now terrified of Arizona, reasonable or not.

    Ludwick. I dislike Pujols because on the field he's kind of a prick, but Ludwick has no right whatsoever to be good and it drives me nuts.
