    4 years and 55-60 million for Dempster past his prime would be one of the most indescribably stupid things the Cubs have ever done, and that's saying something.

    All white sucks, and the Cubs' home pinstripes are among the best uniforms in sports. No thanks. And I think differently on the nameless thing, I think it was just to emphasize the 'name on the front' philosophy after the Sammy 2004 fiasco, and they switched back because they realized it looked dumb as hell. Change the road jerseys if you want but leave the pinstripes alone.

    Reds announcers mentioned he hasn't allowed a run since the ASB break. :shock: Len said that too. 16 scoreless since the break after the 8th.

    The Cubs should not re-sign him. You don't think the Cubs should re-sign Dempster? No. Too much money, lots of cheaper alternatives. Love the guy but he's going to command way more than he's going to be worth.

    Not that Aramis should or would win, but saying he's only played 116 games is a little ridiculous. If he played the rest of this year's games, he'd have played 154. Even if he misses a few more here and there, it's not like you have to play all 162 to be considered.

    Ours are hotter though. That's gotta count for something. Counts for plenty in my book. Especially in a couple years when I'm allowed to think Shawn Johnson is hot.

    She did get one on the all-around (despite getting messed over a couple of times in judging there too). At least she has one. Stop calling it the people's republic of china. You're not Olympic officials, you can call it China. Hell, call it Communist China.

    Apparently, Nastia loses based on like the average of the 4th through 6th scores out of 7. Or something ridiculous. This is stupid.

    WGN airs more Cubs games than Sox games, I believe, which defrays that difference. I know, but we are talking about CSN. I was just saying that if indeed CSN did have a Sox bias (which again, I don't think they do), it might be because they air more Sox games and therefore presumably have an interest in giving them more press. Oh, I see now.

    Yeah, those used to be awesome when they were relatively new. Some of them are still ok, but those aren't used very often.

    Stupid names for home runs: Dinger, Tater, etc Steve Berthiaume saying "Fill thine horn with oil, and go" But then again, we could go another 30 pages on ESPN things that tick us off.

    FSN/Comcast/Whatever shows PAC 10 football. Does TBS still show the occassional game? Comcast Sportsnet is showing a fair amount of football this year, I think TBS still has a game (usually Big 12 if I'm not mistaken) once a week, and Versus airs some Pac-10 football too.

    I love talking about playoff rotations in mid-August, as opposed to any previous year at this time since I have been alive. That is all.

    It was regional last year. If your provider only has one channel, then you'll only get the regional game. It doesn't apply to providers with alternate channels unless you don't have enough alternates to get all of the games. South Bend's Comcast has 2, plus an allegedly HD channel that doesn't appear to broadcast in HD. We'll see how that flies.

    Edmonds. I knew there was a chance that Dempster could be decent - not as great as he's been, but decent. Edmonds I was absolutely certain would be 2-3 weeks of crappiness and that would be that. Instead, he not only has become the best hitter on the team since his acquisition, not only has been better than I could've thought defensively, but has won over Cubs fans completely as well as pretty much severed his ties with St. Louis. In so many ways, Jimmy is the easy choice.
