    There was the Fick thing in the playoffs too, though. Granted the rosters are way different, but these two teams have something of a history, especially for non-division rivals.

    maybe, but in 4 years Liuken and Johnson will be 20 and there will be a 1/2 dozen 16 year olds who are probably better Not to mention the 4 12 year olds China will bring with passports fresh off the printer. liukin is a month shy of being 19. so johnson doing well at 20 isn't so far-fetched. she'll compete, no doubt. But there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of carry over from one Olympics to the other. 2004 Women's Olympic Team: Carly Patterson: 16 years old in 2004 Terin Humphrey: 18 Annia Hatch: 26 Courtney Kupits: 18 Mohini Bhardwaj: 26 Courtney McCool: 16 4 of 6 were under 20 years old and none are on the team this year Patterson could've competed again but she decided to go make a pop album instead. I wish I were kidding.

    I am starting to believe that if Michael Phelps announced he was going to attempt to take over the world and eliminate all black people, NBC would spearhead his campaign and throw all their resources at it.

    Congrats! It's pretty great. My boy is just about two months old. There are some downsides, of course, but it's definitely worth it. My mom already bought him a little Lee jersey T. I brought him home in a Cubs onesie... he was swimming in it, but I had to get him started early. The bad thing is all our kids are gonna think that the Cubs are always this good. I pray to God my future kids grow up thinking the Cubs were always 'this good'.

    Pull everyone out of the game with any value. Oh wait, that's pretty much our entire lineup this year damn. I just said "pinch hit Edmonds for Soriano" and realized a second later there's no way I want Edmonds hit either. It's a good problem to have I guess.

    When I lived in South Carolina as a little kid, I rooted for the Braves. Now I hate them more than any NL team save probably the Cardinals and Brewers. Every single effing series they stir crap up and it really pisses me off.

    Not too worried about the Cardinals at this point. I've said it before: The Cardinals can get all the ridiculously lucky seasons they want. I'll be slightly annoyed but in the end they won't make the playoffs, so it doesn't matter. Oh, geez.
