  1. If we'd won tonight I would've continued the "pissing off NSBB" tradition with the It's Gonna Happen shirt. As it is, I'm going with the DeRosa shirtsey tomorrow.
  2. We are going to win both games in LA. Whether we win this series comes down to Z or Demp showing up for Games 2 or 5.
  3. And Manny. I'm convinced the Wrigley wind hates us. It does this all the damn time.
  4. Alright, Cubs. http://www.funnycatpix.com/_pics/super_cute_kittens.jpg Their fate is in your hands.
  5. That's the kind of home run that people only hit against us.
  6. This is exactly what could not happen in Game 1.
  7. Always remember: You root for the Cubs. that is not different than being a fan of any other team as far as this season So you don't think there is any added pressure when you play for the Cubs? You don't think the fact that the crowd is booing 5 innings into game 1 of the playoffs after a 97 win season makes anything different? I'm guessing just about any fans in baseball would be booing their team under the same circumstances. Completely disagree. If Mike Lowell strikes out to leadoff an inning of game 1 at Fenway when they're down 2 in the 6th, do they boo? Ok, maybe the Red Sox fans who won a title last year do not. But pick out any of the other 7 playoff teams and I'm betting there's at least scattered boos, especially when your ace loses command for the first time all year and your offense has done very little apart from one swing.

  9. Probably should have gone with Harden. But then I was saying that a while ago. Go figure.
  10. Screw it, I'm probably cracking open a beer here soon. Never mind that my 13 year old brother is the only other person in the house.
  11. Hell of a job by Dempster. Fewer pitches next inning, though, please.
  12. I loved Eck saying he didn't know anything about Ryan Dempster ("I don't know if he got lucky pitching at home, I don't know if he had a lot of no-decisions on the road, I don't know" when trying to explain Ryan's home record). Real hard-hitting analysis.
  13. At least 4 or 5 bitter Sox/Cards fans I know have some sort of message rooting against the Cubs or for the Dodgers posted on their Facebooks. The Sox thing befuddles me especially - they just won a division title like 20 hours ago.
  14. Fine lineup. I pray Fuku can recapture his cold-weather-at-Wrigley magic.
  15. The same Cubs BP cap (circa 2006) that I wear a whole heck of a lot, and the 07 Central Division champs shirt because I have a feeling about it (despite what happened after they won it).
  16. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I get out of here in 105 minutes
  17. Rick Reilly was just on ESPN in a completely stupid and pointless "Top 10 reasons the Cubs won't win" which included - Kerry Wood's arm falls off (because no one has thought of it before) - Ronnie Woo Woo denied entrance to Wrigley, puts Woo Curse on Cubs and in my personal favorite about Fukudome reading his clock the wrong direction and arriving at a Series game after it was over, Reilly pronounced Kosuke's first name ko-SOO-kay.
  18. I miss when I was in school and could pretty much watch playoff games all day apart from the odd class. I won't be able to watch the Crew's game tomorrow.
  19. Put the Dodgers in the http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e67/ndistops/Dumpster.jpg and take a 1-0 series lead!
  20. After sneaking in the playoffs by becoming the first team this year to beat three teams in three days, the Southsiders head to Tampa to face the upstart Rays. The Fighting Ozzies have understandably not announced their starter yet, while the Rays will go with James Shields. Hopefully his pitching skills are better than his boxing skills... http://www.baseballslate.com/images/james-shields-swings-and-misses.jpg This series starts Thursday rather than Wednesday, which works out well for the guys from the Cell. Note: Don Orsillo, the Red Sox play by play man, will be broadcasting this series for TBS.
  21. HEY GUYS WE WON THE AL CENT AL CENTRAL
