it sure makes the idea of ncaa basketball being for "student-athletes" seem pretty comical. but we pretty much knew that already. If coaches can jump schools without punishment, why shouldn't the athletes who made their college choice assumedly in large part due to the coach be able to make the jump too?

Is that the rumor? I wouldn't bet on Dixon leaving Pitt except to go to a real 'name' basketball school, which USC is not, but you may know something I don't.

He doesn't pitch and therefore doesn't need the magic of one Dave Duncan. :wink: I'm looking for the magic of Rick Ankiel and Ryan Ludwick Not many were confident in Ludwick to do it again... I think we've become pretty good at evaluating who's likely to have the pixie dust again and who isn't. I think most of us feel Ankiel will continue to be pretty good but Ludwick won't be nearly the same. -
Absolutely. The team that finished tied for 4th in the Big Ten beat the team that finished tied for 9th in the Big East (who also has a history of sucking beyond belief in the city of New York), so it's settled. ha ha ha, just talking a little trash. There seemed to be a lid on the basket for ND in the first half....I've never seen so many gimme layups roll off the rim. I thought Harongody was going to eat PSU alive inside, but they suddenly came up with some interior defense in the past week. Who knew? I missed the game, but that's happened from time to time with us. Just a bad time for it to happen. I noticed McAlarney shot 2/11, which is pretty much par for the course with him. I was hoping to win the NIT, but the season was a disappointment either way. SSR, I was drunk when I made that post. Don't worry about it. 8-)

If I hadn't taken Cary Harris already in round 2, I'd have taken Bruton with my 3rd rounder. Good pick by AI.

Carolina ran some wildcat last year with DeAngelo Williams. With their third-round pick, they'll take a guy who can run some more of it: QB Pat White from West Virginia. He can also jump in as a RB or a WR on occasion. Carolina loves guys they can move around a lot (Steve Smith, Williams). dew has been PM'd.

Every year I take a risk with my pick and end up with someone who never hits any homers. I just decided to take my guaranteed 10-ish this year and went with Mike Fontenot. -
i'm pretty sure the acc has a team in the final four. also the big xii does not. As we've already discussed, the ACC sucked outside of UNC, and the Big 12 has had a very solid tournament.

ESPN's trashing of the Big Ten during basketball season is the same as their trashing of Notre Dame during football season - because they don't control the TV rights for those teams, they undermine them at every opportunity. Only I guess the Big Ten fans aren't used to it, because you guys are acting as petulantly as I used to (and sometimes still do) before I realized this fact. The Big Ten, Big East and Big 12 all had fantastic tournaments. The Big East went in as probably the best conference so they pretty much maintain that, the Big 12 was with the ACC and now jumps them for 2nd, and the Big Ten does the same jump past the ACC for 3rd because they got a team in the Final Four. Done and done.

Williams had that crazy and-1 dunk against Villanova, it's safe to say he has some ability.

Luke Harangody if Harangody got every piece of contact ever against him called. That's why I hate him. He just got a touch foul called 40 feet from the basket against the national player of the freaking year. Unbelievable. I've never seen someone have the refs so far in their pocket.

Sucks to be playing against someone on a totally different level than him, I'm guessing. Then again, as the second-best player on his own team he should be used to it. The non-Hansbrough Heels are off to a good start though. yeah griffin is really showing him who's boss, look at this ass kicking Because that matchup is the reason. As it turns out, Hansbrough is neither guarding nor being guarded by Griffin. I'm not pleased with that. I'm going to kill Howie Long.

For being the regular season and tournament champ of what was pretty much considered the best league in the country - with the tournament seemingly bearing that out - I've never thought a lot of Louisville. They can be a nightmare to play against, but they also seem to have a lot more weaknesses than other top-flight Big East teams. MSU/UConn will be a tremendous matchup.

Can still finish in the money if Oklahoma wins tonight and Villanova beats MSU for the title. Not bloody likely.
