  1. Just because I never get to brag, I completed the grid yesterday
  2. I only got 7 today. I'm utterly flabbergasted that Albert Pujols didn't hit 300 for his career.
  3. No need for heat. I've been quite vocal about Madrigal not being my favorite player but the way he is playing lately makes him a perfectly useful piece in the lineup, which is a great outcome.
  4. I literally never said it wasn't. They also didn't just destroy the Pac-12 because they felt like it, barely two years after entering a supposed 'Alliance' of like-minded universities countering perceived SEC aggression that was really just Kevin Warren's successful effort to scout the next cash cows he was going to steal from other leagues.
  5. They've never destroyed entire conferences in pursuit of it. (The beauty of not being in one is that you can be self-interested without knifing your supposed colleagues in the back.) The only real difference at this point between the B1G and the supposedly evil, football-uber-alles SEC is that the SEC is mostly honest about what it is.
  6. Mostly it would be teeing off on the B1G for constantly trying to pretend they care about anything but money while literally spending the past 3 decades straight proving otherwise. I don't think ND will literally be forced into a conference. The CFP is too big now, and any attempt to codify a way to exclude independents into it at this point would be a hilariously obvious violation of antitrust law. Oddly enough, they might find an ally in the SEC, who would prefer the only remaining big name on the board not go to the other big moneymaking conference and would likely help devise a way to avoid that if possible. But they might just join one anyway since the whole idea of being in a conference has long since stopped being relevant. (The only connective tissue 8 of the soon-to-be 18 B1G schools are going to have is that they like money and the B1G offered it.) The financial realities of going it alone are just going to be too much to overcome at some point.
  7. I really don't have much to say (well, I do, but nothing anyone here wants to read) except that this all horsefeathers sucks. My school and my team will keep me engaged but the sport as a whole is kind of a hard sell right now.
  8. It's probably somewhere between a decent and healthy margin. They don't play any more weekday day games than anyone else does, but exclusively day games on Fridays and weekends (outside national games) probably bumps you up a few notches.
  9. It is extremely easy to not say slurs while you have a microphone on, making fun of him for that alone is completely fair game and should be done often. Also he was quite plainly a jackass long before he started saying slurs into microphones, so that helps.
  10. I never understood why we were linked to him. He had all the looks of a guy going over a cliff and oh what do you know
  11. This second tweet is presented without comment:
  12. I picked up Lively in fantasy today for absolutely no reason other than as a reverse jinx. Didn't think it would work quite so well.
  13. Which, it should be noted, is fine. Wisdom isn't a great defender or overall hitter, but at least he can get on an occasional HR heater. Mancini can't hit and was also the worst defensive 1B on the roster.
  14. Diaz is going right to that spot over and over now that the ump gave him that call.
  15. It would be super if tonight at least showed Ross Bellinger should be hitting in the top 3 in the lineup.
  16. Problem is that Seiya and Happ between them barely amount to a major league hitter at the immediate moment
  17. It was literally right on the line and it certainly looked like he went in live time. I can't get upset about that one. Buzzard luck though
  18. And after failing to hit he immediately concedes 2 extra bases, wonderful
  19. Seiya has just been a tremendous disappointment.
  20. Granted I know very very little about prospects but that seems like a great move. Candelario has been very good and on days Mancini doesn't play, third base was our only clear offensive weakness. I like it a lot.
  21. I only got 6, screwed up multiple times on the MVP column. I hate when I mess up the potentially easier boards that have Cubs options.
  22. Speaking as someone who had never heard of Bednar until this thread was posted, it's not crazy to prefer paying less in prospect cost for Sewald than paying the likely much higher cost for Bednar.
