I just looked this up and they temporarily changed the rule for the COVID season, but have since gone back to wiping out whatever happens if the game isn't official before a rainout. -
Shota making this look very easy
-
That was a terrific piece of hitting by Busch. He looks rock solid so far
-
I guess the numbers don't back us up from yesterday
-
What the actual hell was that Mastro
-
Ump immediately calling the same damn pitches he gave LA as balls for Little. Be interested in seeing that ump scorecard thing for this game
-
This ump is giving LA any pitch they want now I guess
-
Dansby strikes out on the 6th straight ball thrown in the AB
-
Don't worry, if we're lucky enough to be in the race in July we'll get more and maybe games like this won't bite us in the end
-
Because we have a limited quantity of good relievers and they can't pitch every game
-
Cuas immediately comes in to throw gasoline all over Wicks' great day. Looks like late stage Carlos Marmol
-
Wicks going pitch for pitch with Yamamoto, pretty darn cool.
-
At least we'll get this guy out before too long. He's snapping off ridiculous pitches in the tough spots
-
Can't really complain about these grounders finding holes because they're being hit hard - but it would be nice if they found gloves
-
Complimented the ump too soon on calling ball 2 correctly, he proceeds to immediately call a worse pitch a strike to end the inning
-
Yamamoto doing that thing where you let your kid have some early success and then shut it the hell down the second it gets real
-
A few people on Twitter noting this could've been a translation thing where Ohtani meant he was able to communicate with the fan through a 3rd party, FWIW.
-
Apparently they're also just going to be called "The A's" and not the Sacramento A's during that time, which is...interesting.
-
I remember when Cody looked bad his first week or so last year and I got scared he was a total pumpkin, I'm starting to think that was a rash reaction
-
I thought of him too, though he was not since Garza
-
Cole Hamels and Jose Quintana both were pretty great in their first Cubs starts
-
The only reason I can think of why Jones would've been in such a rush there was that due to the conditions maybe he thought Happ would be sent - but holy cow that was bad haha
-
Imanaga is on a one-man mission to completely destroy the "Japanese players don't get emotional on the field" stereotype and I am here for it
-
At least it was Blackmon, feels like these bids so often get ended by some nothing guy at the bottom of the order.
-
Oy. That was a hard-hit ball but Morel flat whiffing on it is not the best.
