  1. He was safe anyway. Blame him for not running sooner but once again a blown call goes against us. Seems like that is happening a hell of a lot lately. Because only the Cubs have calls go against them. Because I have the time to research 29 other teams to find out.

  3. Good lord Derrek. And he was safe. BS'd again.
  4. The odds of the ump changing that zone on a key pitch later in the game are 1:40.
  5. Incredibly stupid. Miles coming back basically removes any need for Bobby Scales, if you're bringing this worthless midget back at all. Fox meanwhile still has a place as a reserve corner IF/OF.
  6. What the heck are we going to do with him? The guy just keeps hitting. We can't find room for Hoff to bat enough, let alone Fox. Not a bad problem, but a bit frustrating, especially since our corner OF spots are locked down for the next 2 years. Hopefully when everyone comes back, Scales is sent down and I guess Blanco down as well. Freel will be DFAd, no? That would leave 13 position players as follows: Soto, Hill, Ramirez, Theriot, Fontenot, Lee, Miles, Soriano, Johnson, Fukudome, Bradley, Fox, Hoffpauir Although I'm sure we'll never be 100% healthy, so that will mix and match. There is literally no reason Blanco shouldn't stay and Miles shouldn't be DFA'd. Blanco can hit almost as well as Miles and play MUCH better defense at two positions whereas Miles plays mediocre defense at one. Of course, that won't happen.
  7. If you think Subway is too expensive you should see other sub places. The remaining $5 footlongs they have are one of the best deals in 'cheap' food. Guaranteed fill-up every time.
  8. Three more games left on the trip, let's not speak too soon. Guzman is just absolutely fantastic. Love him. FWIW, I got in my car from Subway just as the 14th inning started, right before Soriano homered.
  9. Reds had a Cub-type game today. Score early, let other team whittle it down and tie it late.
  10. If that dropped Theriot doesn't score, and we definitely strand him.
  11. Soriano needs to be put in Lee's now-empty grave.
  12. Somehow, I knew Soto was gonna homer when I muted the TV.
  13. If you ask me, Len jinxed it by passing along that blatantly lying stat saying we do well against guys making their debuts.
  14. Which is fine because he's tearing the hell out of the ball. Wait.
  15. Of course he does. First time I've really watched this team in quite a few days. Now I remember why I didn't.
  16. Of course we give up a hit to the rookie pitcher. Why don't we just serve up a homer to Hairston here?
  17. 08 - Cubs make things happen 09 - Cubs wait for bad things to happen
  18. And we don't ever get that called strike three. Not in that spot.
