  1. Sample size. We ran the ball better after Justice entered, which he had nothing to do with. Since when is there another MAC-o-phile on the board anyway?
  2. No, probably not. Certainly not if our QB is out for the game - he hurt his hand in the 2nd quarter on Saturday and the backup is garbage.
  3. Are they really worth insulting? BC is a nonentity. Though their punk fan base would never accept that. I attended the BC game in 2004 that we lost by one and their fans were intolerable leaving the stadium. Strong words from a fan of a team that has lost six straight games to them. Five more days until this crap can stop. ETA: Admittedly, those teams they've beaten were dog [expletive]. The only decent team in the six-game stretch was 2002, and that was the beginning of the season-ending swan dive. There'd likely be no such streak if they'd played ND in 2005 or 2006, but they didn't.
  4. 17-0 wasn't enough of a laugher for you? I was more embarrassed by that than by USC last year.

I attended the BC game in 2004 that we lost by one and their fans were intolerable leaving the stadium. It's good that you clarify they lost that game by one since it's so hard to differentiate between all the losses without such details. I attended the game in 1993 when all the ND student section cried like a bunch of little girls and it was glorious. I believe that was a 2 point margin. Good memory, buddy. By the way, that win cost ND the national championship. If BC knew anything about being in the title picture in November I'd expect them to cry upon being removed from it too. 1993 was my introduction into how stupid college football is. Wasn't there some committee after the season to determine who should've been #1 between FSU and ND? I was 7 years old then and knew that the system for determining a national champion was freaking dumb. Sadly, it's not gotten much better. I believe that was the first time BC ever beat ND too. I don't remember that. I do know that Bobby Bowden voted us 5th in the final coaches' poll to help his own team's chances, and I believe someone else voted us 24th for absolutely no reason other than to make sure we wouldn't finish #1. And yes, that was the first time BC won in the series. They've been a pain in the ass ever since, hopefully the team is ready to crack some skulls on Saturday. I'm sick of the cardiac-arrest games and would love to see a whipping.

  8. I really, really, really want to beat those punks from Boston College. I really, really, really want to know why 0-7 Ball State is FAVORED on the road against Eastern Michigan, quite possibly with Kelly Page unavailable due to injury.
  9. I'm going to take it as a good sign that my QB was Josh Johnson, my opponent's was Drew Brees and I lost by only 13 points.
  10. Better? Perhaps. Much better? No. All the computers have the two teams split for the most part, both the bcs ones and the non bcs ones. if anything they're pretty much equal this year. then you give the benefit of the doubt to florida since they beat alabama last season. if alabama and florida were to play next week, who do you think wins? i dont think alabama can score on florida's defense and tim tebow would be able to make enough plays to pull it out. Alabama has the best defense in the country. The great Tebow's two turnovers were the only reason the Gators had a close game with Arkansas last week. Florida's offense has underachieved significantly in SEC play. I think Bama would win by a touchdown.
  11. Haha, there are way too many of you Illini fans for me to do that. In any case half the time you'd still be in there since almost every team in the conference has a vocal fan or two on this board.
  12. The latter, but Bama has been better than Florida this year and it's really not that close to this point. Can you really discard the game last season between the two? Is Florida really that much worse? I don't think so.I sure can, because the rankings are ostensibly based on the performance of the two teams during the 2009 season, and Alabama's performance has been much better.
  13. BCS standings being used as the Top 25 the rest of the year. 14. FWIW, I saw a projection that had them 6 in the BCS. That's what they are at. Behind Boise and Cincy, who I think they'll jump if they keep winning. If they win out they need help to jump one of the big three. Are the rankings out? Where'd you see them?
  15. If by not too bad, you mean really damn good I agree. When the Panthers traded up to get Jeff Otah last year I thought they were getting Flacco at first and got really excited. He is really good.
  16. FWIW, I saw a projection that had them 6 in the BCS.
  17. Panthers win 28-21 after a 16-play (one pass) drive bleeds the clock to almost nothing before scoring. One more crappy team left in October to hopefully go back to .500.
  18. Anderson throws the game-sealing pick in Pittsburgh, then shoves a Steeler for no apparent reason. Good guy, that Anderson.
  19. Stewart dominating this drive. If Jake had just turned around and handed the ball off more this game we'd be blowing the Bucs out.
  20. Jake Delhomme is the worst QB in the NFL. Others may put up worse numbers, but only Jake has the constant pick-6 guillotine hanging over his fans' heads.
  21. I can't decide if I'm more pissed at him or at the Giants' defense for bombing so badly that I will probably get negative points from them. (And I looked for another D to play this week, there wasn't anyone worth crap available.)
  22. Jake just threw a pick. We're 30 yards away from a tie game.
  23. Tampa takes the kickoff back. That's how bad teams lose.
  24. It's Tampa, so take it with the salt necessary, but Williams and Stewart are starting to get back into a groove. Stewart just reeled off a 26-yard scoring run to give the Panthers a 21-7 lead.
  25. Carolina picks off Josh Johnson to open the 3rd, convert a 4th and 1 from the 3 and score to go up 14-7.
