  1. Black jerseys rarely don't at least look cool, but Tennessee's orange tops are among the best in college football and it sucks that they'd pass on wearing them.
  2. I remember those devastatingly harsh penalties placed on Notre Dame immediately after the Kim Dunbar scandal. And by devastating I mean 2 whole scholies pulled and by immediately after I mean 2-4.5 years after the fact. 2 more schollies than USC has lost for much more severe offenses, BTW. And by "2-4.5 years after the fact" you must mean "less than one year", because that's the actual truth. The allegations were from 1993-1998. The investigation was opened in January 1998 and the punishments were handed down in December of 1999. That's nearly two years and you're looking at 5 years of alleged malfeasance. Let's not act like the NCAA was swift in its actions. Anyway, the Bush/Mayo thing will bear fruit for you at some point and you can pretend its some great act of justice when all anyone really cares about is that a program you don't like gets punished--after all the only time people like the NCAA is when its sticking it to hated teams. It's not even just that. Michigan got a 'letter of inquiry' this week regarding those practice-time allegations, which of course is a good thing, but again, it's the NCAA moving quickly on something relatively minor while we've heard absolutely no news on Bush/Mayo in forever. And I hate Michigan MUCH more than I could ever dislike USC. It's just completely backwards and counter to everything the NCAA claims to stand for.
  3. Also OK St is not being punished, Dez Bryant is. I'd say losing the team's best player when OK State had a chance to be as good as they've been in a very long time would qualify as the team being punished.

  5. Meanwhile, still nothing about Reggie Bush or O.J. Mayo. The NCAA is a crock of [expletive].
  6. In fairness though, Bradley has a lot more value as a player than Sammy had at that time.
  7. ABC will have regional coverage of the two big games this weekend. The other one will be on ESPN2.
  8. Especially based on potential. He needs to sit a year as the backup, but no teams are going to pass him up unless they have no need to draft a QB. Shut up guys, he can't know about this. :D
  9. I didn't realize how truly bad Florida's schedule is until I looked it up during a debate with a friend. They play 2 currently ranked teams - LSU and South Carolina (the latter probably won't finish the season ranked). They play 3 trash non-conference games and Florida State. The rest of their schedule consists of Kentucky, Miss State, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Tennessee. That's pretty weak.
  10. because you would be an authority on how to properly host any sort of party that doesn't take place at chuck e cheese Are you saying I have kids or that I'm 12 years old? I'll tell you now, neither is true.
  11. Go Panthers! Get... Oh right, we traded our top 10 pick for a backup DE.
  12. Why choose? Game long decided by 10:30 or 11, show up fashionably late to the parties (which normally start around 10 here - I can't speak for other schools). Watch game at party? The only person I know that would ever have college football games on at Halloween parties is typing this post.

  14. USC/Oregon on ABC and Texas/OK St on ESPN2 is an assumption (GameDay's going to Eugene). I haven't seen confirmation of it.

  16. HAHA, Carolina scores, forces a 3 and out, and fumbles the ball back to Buffalo on the punt. What a joke of a team. Enjoy 4-12, idiots.
  17. Jake throws a pick. He can NOT be this team's QB in 2010.
  18. I already had to live with the Browns drafting Brady Quinn and then enacting their career-sabotage on him, I think I'd lose it if Jimmy met a similar fate.
  19. Panthers fail on 4th and 1. Geez.
  20. They made a good point this morning on Sports Reporters. This is going to be the last draft before the new CBA, and the expectations are the rookie salary cap is going to be going down a lot. This could prompt a lot of players to go pro who are on the fence. Plus there is always the potential of a work stoppage, though I doubt that will happen. Yeah, I've been thinking about a while as it pertains to Jimmy. Bradford leaving probably enhances the chances that Clausen would stay, so I'm glad Bradford decided to go.
  21. i thought it was 7-2? Oh Good God, Kasay missed the field goal at half? I hadn't even been listening and assumed he would have made it. That's two misses he has today.
  22. The Panthers' radio team running down the stats just made me laugh. Got to Delhomme's 16/26 stat line and said "and a costly interception", but he said it like it was just part of the game plan and totally expected. Which it was, of course. Yay for being down 7-5 at home to a team that lost to Cleveland.
  23. AP's Twitter feed says Bradford will go pro if his shoulder rehab goes well post-surgery.
  24. This is the first game this year where Jimmy Clausen really hasn't looked good. His numbers were respectable I guess (26/39 for 246, 2 TD, no picks), but not in the vicinity of great. But in the end he'll probably actually move up in Heisman consideration because Tebow is crapping the bed this year. He didn't play very well today though. We basically had one pass play in the playbook this week - quick curl route - and Jimmy threw those on the money but beyond that he made some bad decisions and wasn't his usual self. I'll credit BC some for that, as Jimmy faced more heat today than he has most of the season. BC played horribly and we should have won by way more. But a win is a win, especially against those damn Eagles - five more probably sends us to Miami or Glendale, which is the best I can hope for out of the season.
  25. Now you know why. BSU 29, EMU 27.463 yards rushing. MiQuale Lewis goes for 301 and Cory Sykes goes for 203. Two completed passes for one freaking yard. We're a weird-ass football team. We're not winning any remaining game, so hello 1-11. It never felt so sweet.
