  1. Jim Caldwell moves your barometer? Huh? Rex Ryan just annoys the crap out of me. Sports needs as many Rex Ryans as possible. Guys like him make sports fun if you ask me.
  2. Eh, well. It was worth a shot to try to get him at a new position. Overall I've been pleased with my impressions of Kelly's recruiting so far. Care to explain why? I've been thoroughly unimpressed so far. I guess I'm just glad to see him pursuing top talent. Of course, he needs to actually get it.
  3. This could really get out of hand quickly.
  4. Rex Ryan and company are just fantastic. TD would be beyond huge for the Jets here.
  5. Texas had already lost this week.
  6. Just as I say the Big East is down, UConn downs Texas with a dominating 2nd half. Maybe I should hate on them more often...
  7. ND takes care of DePaul behind a two-pronged effort from Abromaitis (30 pts) and Harangody (24).
  8. He really seems to be developing a swagger too.
  9. Rep. I'll be the first to say that the Big East is down this year (which a lot of people projected before the season).
  10. Eh, well. It was worth a shot to try to get him at a new position. Overall I've been pleased with my impressions of Kelly's recruiting so far.
  11. You just lost to Detroit. That just happened, like, 16 hours ago.
  12. Dare I ask what USCe is supposed to mean?
  13. Noah's a better version of Ben Wallace. Turned out to be a more than adequate ballplayer. Pair him with a big who can score and that's a nice frontcourt.
  14. And UNC also lost tonight, to Wake Forest (their third consecutive loss). Not often that Duke and UNC lose the same night.Seven years since they both lost an ACC game on the same night according to SportsCenter.
  15. What happened to AI? He is/was a big Steelers fan, no?
  16. This. He's damaged goods at this point. We might as well bring back Prior if we're going to go this route.
  17. I have the BP cap that was used through 06 and I don't ever plan on buying another BP cap again. The crap they're tossing around makes that even easier to follow.
  18. I never win game threads, but I still like to start them. Maybe one year I'll catch lightning in a bottle. Add me to the list.
  19. Barring an insane run, ND's going to the NIT. Cincinnati was a body blow, and Cuse delivered the knockout punch. Notre Dame's not a bad team - they're actually better than I thought they'd be, especially after Scott Martin went out. But they're not good enough to be more than .500-ish in the Big East.
  20. Is it just the way that ref's face looks, or was he stifling a laugh when talking about enforcing the 15-yarder just then?
  21. I came in today thinking the Colts would be colossally lucky to have the Jets win. Now I'm thinking that the Jets, along with Minnesota, are two of the defenses in the league best equipped to stop the Colts, and they may have to play both to win the title. Throw in the 'they're the only reason the Jets made it' subplot and next week could actually be a fascinating AFC title game. Rex Ryan has done a phenomenal job the last 2 weeks.
  22. no one's saying luck is the reason they won. they are obviously the best team in the AFC and they dominated today. all we are talking about is how every time manning threw a pick or the ravens got a big play on offense something went the colts' way. it's not a hard concept to grasp. Yep. 17-3 and Manning tosses up a pick, but Ed Reed, normally a smart football player, fails to account for the possibility that someone might strip the ball from him from behind, so the Colts get it back. Then Manning tosses up another pick and Reed takes it deep into Colts' territory, but a Ravens player commits a dumb interference penalty that was unnecessary because the ball was tossed into double coverage anyway. If either of those picks had stood, 17-10 could have changed the complexion of that game. But that's why the Ravens were the 6 seed and the Colts were the 1 - because the Colts don't do that. They are almost maddeningly machine-like in their ability to avoid backbreaking mistakes and kill opponents for theirs.
  23. I'm with this statement. The Colts catch a lot of lucky breaks, but I think they also stick out more because they make their opponents pay for every one. Baltimore is playing stupid - I'm not sure if they always do this or what, since I've only watched them against the Colts this year.
