    It is an opportunity for them, and it seems like if the kids see it that way, they're qualified as adults to make the decision to seek another school out without being bombarded by people who are stalking them. The coaching camp-out is extremely creepy regardless of circumstance. hahahah, yeah, that how college recruiting works, the coaches all just assume the recruits are qualified to make their own decisions and leave them alone. So now you're saying this is no different from recruiting a high-schooler? Really? ETA: I'm not saying don't reach out to the players at all, but stalking behavior that would get you arrested in some circumstances is not the way to go.

    Still, there was a reason they chose PSU over other schools in the first place, and a reason they didn't transfer already when all this was already going on. well, the reason they didn't transfer when this was going on was that they didn't have a waiver and would have to sit out a year. everyone knew the school's reputation was in shambles, but nobody knew if the ncaa would step in since no ncaa by-laws were violated and the ncaa has never levied a punishment for situations like this. after the freeh report and the comments by emmert last week, i would think that any player who didn't have his head lodged up his ass would start to consider other options, given the possibility of significant ncaa sanctions. Oh, I figured a waiver would/could be granted after the fact. My bad. It probably could, but until the last week or two I don't think NCAA punishment was a guarantee.

    It wasn't, I only found out about it on the DirecTV website. I'm only really going to use it for Carolina games, so it's not that big a deal to me, but I will miss RedZone. Not worth an extra 100 bucks though.

    I spent way too much of last year being completely annoyed with his being on the roster because he was, as I think someone once referred to him, a "nonprospect". But as a cheap young option, he's turned out to be terrific. I apologize, Darwin Barney.
