  1. Oddly enough, the last ND team to not give up a TD to a BCS-AQ school in a game was the train-wreck 2007 team.
  2. Alabama might never lose again.
  3. I like that concept I do, too. Very unique to split a 4-game series up like that. I just wish there would be more interleague games total. There should be 30, not 20. And spread them out more. I don't know if we're the only team who is done with IL play by the middle of July, but it's kind of disappointing to me. I'm a traditionalist in most cases (hate the DH, etc) but I think IL play is one of the best things that has happened to the game in my lifetime. That and the Wild Card. I disagree. I like interleague play as it is now. Part of its value is in its not being common.
  4. Actually, ND and Purdue have a pretty big in-state rivalry. I doubt they'd drop that game. Everything I'm reading says the top priorities are Navy, USC and Stanford. I presume all the 3 B1G schools would remain on the schedule consistently though (presuming they want to), if not necessarily annually. This probably belongs in a different thread, but I think I'm more excited about the basketball team in the ACC than I am about the football part.
  5. You know, I've been looking for a good new euphemism for...never mind.

  7. Can't wait for the Big East to issue a "justifiable lag" statement regarding the play clock
  8. Good for you, Tommy.
  9. I don't know if I should be happy this is working.
  10. You'd think that would be the only way Kelly would do something so dumb, wouldn't you?
  11. Rees warming up. I quit.
  12. Who is "etc."? Michigan, Michigan St., Stanford, BYU... None of those teams have done anything particularly noteworthy yet (esp. Michigan and Stanford). Then again, we're headed for OT with Purdue...
  13. Two years after Tulsa, you'd think Brian Kelly would learn to stop putting the ball in the hands of your freshman. Why not just run Riddick there?
  14. Colorado loses to Sacramento State.
  15. Four. And I noticed the same thing. Incredibly stupid.
  16. I'm going to go ahead and take that one given ND's luck with replay officials' loose interpretation of the word 'indisputable' towards them over the years. it's not a college sports thread without andy bemoaning the rich history of notre dame getting screwed. Nor is it one without you or Sulley picking out every post I make and insulting me over it. Don't you not care about this game or either team in it?
  17. I'm going to go ahead and take that one given ND's luck with replay officials' loose interpretation of the word 'indisputable' towards them over the years. Your front four is either [expletive] monstrous or our O-line isn't all that good. Maybe both. Wish Kelly would run the ball a bit more before having Golson pitch it 45 times though.
  18. Miami is so bad.
  19. Rashad Jennings is starting for Jax, which neither MJD nor Tate are doing. Now, if you think MJD will come in and not miss a beat, that's a whole different debate but I'd go with the guy who is starting.
  20. And I still wouldn't take Savannah
  21. I saw that video too. I couldn't really disagree with any of the Nats' color guy's bellyaching but thought it was funny that he referred to us throwing at a teenager as if Bryce Harper is a 15-year-old girl and not a major league baseball player in better shape than almost anyone else on the field.
  22. This. Every time I've ever tried 'playing matchups' with offensive players, it fails. OTOH, if you don't have one of the stud defenses, you can't go wrong plucking whoever is available and playing the crappiest team. I'm in a keeper league with 2 DEF's as starters and it worked terrifically almost every week the year I tried it.

  24. No idea what to expect from Carolina this season. Most people are not as high on us as I was expecting, which is probably a good thing because it never seems to work out for the 'trendy' team on the rise year to year. I'm just very excited to see where this team can go. If not for Olindo Mare Carolina might have been 8-8 last year and I have to think with Kuechly, Davis and Beason back the defense should improve. Beat Tampa.
  25. This is not a SEC thing, which I fear is going to be the narrative. This is an Alabama is [expletive] awesome thing. Oh, and Michigan shouldn't be in the top 10, that too.
