  1. Trade him by tomorrow, his value will never be higher! Nice win today.
  2. Seems like Villanueva has been very economical this season.
  3. I doubt we'd lose much. If the Cubs' value was contingent on them having a good team, it wouldn't be as high as it is (obviously).
  4. Wrigley's not on the National Register of Historic Places already?
  5. Both teams off May 9, Texas in Milwaukee the series before. It'll be then. But would they play a day/night doubleheader on 5/9 with both teams having to travel to play the next day? Or would they play an old-fashioned back-to-back doubleheader? Or would they play 1 game on 5/6 and another on 5/9, avoiding the doubleheader altogether but forcing the Cubs to play games on 27 consecutive days. Not many good options there. It would probably be a straight doubleheader - that's my completely uneducated guess anyway.

  7. I don't see how it depends on that at all. They chose to reduce payroll despite the fact that they could afford it. That's all there is to it. I'm just saying that if something else is reasonably deemed a higher priority, then it's not that cut and dried. I mean, there are a lot of things they spend money on that they could dump out and ship to MLB payroll. What does "afford to provide" mean? Well, given that MLB has taken away the ability to outspend other teams in the draft and internationally, I have to imagine the list of alternate financial pipelines isn't all that long.
  8. We're on the verge of one of the most epic fake rallies ever.
  9. Castillo added to the list of homers on any normal night.
  10. any replay you are dying to see will not be shown on the jumbotron. Do you people think it's like some giant personalized RedZone channel or something? Have you ever actually seen a jumbotron in use at a stadium? How dare you deny the paying public such gems as bad dancing and kiss cam. People have been waiting for years to know the words to take me out to the ballgame. Need a jumbotron if you want to take the 7th inning stretch to the next level. Or the lyrics to "Go Cubs Go". They already show the lyrics on the small board below the CF scoreboard
  11. Will the Heat still have LeBron by then? No reason to risk it until he's gone.
  12. It doesn't really make the game experience better. The revenue is what matters Yep. I can't remember a single time I was at a game at Wrigley and wished they had a Jumbotron. Additional revenue is good, though.
  13. "Organizational partner". Wow. Just wow.
  14. How are we going to get a few competent late-inning relievers? And when exactly is Garza coming back? And why should we believe he won't just get hurt again a month later?
  15. I'm going to be watching a lot of Braves' baseball this year. Amazingly, they're good and they didn't have to suck for a half-decade to do it. Not sure how that works.
  16. Lose today to win later, or some such [expletive] nonsense
  17. He's given up 3 straight rockets and he'll face Posey. Well, good game, fellas.
  18. So much for that double waking up Rizzo. Another terrible hack.
