    Must be in effort to up Ransom's value from throw in to slightly more attractive throw in. It's because Castro sucks right now and the FO thinks he needs a day off.

    The DeRo slide and goofy man-hug with Theriot to win that one were terrific. God, 2008 was a great year. I vividly remember that gag, though. I'm pretty sure no one knew what to do with that at the time. It was a "the Russian is cut" moment.

    The Bulls have to know there's no point extending Deng right now, don't they? His value isn't going to be any higher a year from now.

    One year, I think it was 2008, Marmol was still very much in contention for the NL strikeout lead well into June, which of course was totally absurd for a reliever. I remember being flabbergasted by that. Probably my favorite Marmol memory, just because I was there for it, was him getting himself into trouble in the 2009 game against STL which Soriano won with an 8th-inning homer, then getting out of it on a double play. At the time we still thought he was invincible enough to get out of any of his own situations.

    Ben McLemore would definitely be intriguing. I'll believe the Bulls will actually move Deng when I see it at this point, though.

    If anything, I care less this year than last. Every year we are nowhere close to competing makes me stop caring earlier.

    He should change it to Marmol Fan. Not much more damage to be done there. Just to be safe, maybe avoid current Cubs altogether and change it to Santo Fan.

    They might as well let him play it out. It's not like there's a playoff spot on the line. This is what we pay the coaches for, though, so it'd be nice if one of them could figure out what needs to change and get Castro to do it.

    Yadier Molina and his mid-career decision to suddenly become the best hitting catcher in baseball for no damn reason.

    You're never gonna believe this, guys, but Edwin Jackson is taking forever to get out of the first inning.

    He was way out of the basepaths. It wasn't a particularly dirty slide (at least IMO), but it was definitely the right call.

    There is not a single reason for Marmol to be here anymore (except to tank games and help our draft position, which is why he will remain on the team). No one is going to trade for him. Ever.
