Victor Diaz disagrees. Those two weeks or so are up there with my worst Cubs related memories. Favorable schedule, they said. Wild card lead and everybody finally healthy, they said. I just can't believe how long ago it's been now. 08 playoffs was the worst to me though. I thought we were gonna roll. What a gut punch. 08 was the worst. That was a magical regular season. I will never forgive the Cubs for half-assing the final week when they had a plum matchup with the collapsing Mets waiting. -
I'll be watching both of those over this game, so yeah.

2* from next door to Ann Arbor without a UM offer (or almost any other). Now #1 pick? Wow. There's a story going around from NFLN's Gil Brandt that Fisher went 6.5 hours to visit a B1G school during the recruiting process only to see the head coach tell him to enjoy his visit while he went on a golf outing. The two B1G campuses that are right around 6.5 hours away from Fisher's hometown are Illinois and Wisconsin, coached at the time by, respectively, Ron Zook and Bret Bielema. Interesting. ETA: Actually Penn State is too, but I don't know that Joe Paterno was much of a golfer.

Carolina supposedly considering Eifert at 14 according to the Charlotte Observer. I don't doubt they'd consider him but this is literally the first time I've ever seen that possibility floated. Has to be misdirection.

I hadn't heard word one about Te'o to the Bears until these last couple of days. Smells of a smokescreen to get the Vikings to move up IMO. I'm shocked at how fast Eifert has been flying up boards. Lots of talk of him in the top 15 now.

Carolina seems like a slam-dunk landing spot for Richardson (we haven't had a good DT since Kris Jenkins' knees started exploding annually), so unless something wild happens I don't think he gets to 20.

Agreed. I don't really know where I stand to be honest. Part of me is really frustrated because it seems like he should play, but the rest of me isn't going to turn on the dude if only because he's going to be a Bull for the next several years and will be back eventually. Plus I feel like there has to be more to the story. I'm here too, although it seems like if there was a compelling reason Rose can't be out there, either his camp or the Bulls would be trumpeting it to ensure his reputation wasn't compromised, even if only by random trolls on the Internet.

If I know anything about the Cubs history of facing a guy for the first time it's to expect a minimum of 7 innings of shut out baseball. Cingrani is actually good. If he was bad I'd feel oddly less confident in the Cubs' offense.
