That's what I love about these types of deals for us. He could literally become crippled tomorrow and we're just writing off 6 mil a year. But if he were crippled before he signed the deal we wouldn't have to write off anything. Damn it, I don't know if we thought this through...
Haha, I'm not against any of the possible moves, but I had a chuckle at the Pineda/Montero comparison since that deal has been one of the most colossal lose/lose trades (so far anyway) in recent memory.
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/chicago-cubs-sign-anthony-rizzo-to-long-term-extension-jed-hoyer-theo-epstein-051213 Deal includes 2 club option years for '20 and '21 and potentially could go as high as 73M with performance incentives.
Deal replaces his current deal, starting this year, and runs through 2019 Steal. Edited to reflect that it's not really an extension since it replaces his current deal
Castillo throws great, it's everything else relating to catching that he sucks at. Yep, you and N&G are both correct, I had my catching skills that Castillo is terrible at mixed up. Anyway, yay Suzuki sucking
